Sunny, beautiful, (family) apartment over two floors in the leafy, green 'Amsterdam-Zuid' area. Sleeps 5 people. 5 minutes by bike to the bustling neighborhood 'De Pijp' and with a few peddles more you'll find yourself at Dam Square!

Beautiful family friendly apartment in the green area of Amsterdam, 10 minutes from the city center ! Shops, lunchrooms and supermarkets 2 minutes walk away and the Martin Luther King park (great child friendly park) across the street.

The apartment is next to the famous Amstel River, offering great possibilities for walking, cycling, jogging or rowing. This is where you find the people of Amsterdam while doing their outdoor sports.

For the moment the apartment is available the first week of May (5 nights minimum) and the first two weeks of August (7 nights minimum stay). Hopefully we will be able to offer many more weekends soon :-).

The apartment is situated on the 2 top floors of a three story, typical house in the Rivierenbuurt (‘Neighborhood of Rivers’). The apartment has a surface of 135m2 and has a large 8-m2 terrace. We live there most of the year with my French wife Laure and our three kids. You’ll find a very modern and cozy apartment that sleeps 5, with all amenities one could think of:
-Fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave and dishwasher
-Washing machine and dryer
-Bathroom with bath and shower
-Two toilets
-Flat screen TV
-Wireless Internet

First floor
The first floor of the apartment is the living area. It has a large living room, dining room and the kitchen and separate toilet. There’s also a balcony and doors opening from the dining room onto the balcony.

Second floor
Internal stairs lead you to the second floor, which has three bedrooms.
-The first bedroom with a double bed
-The second bedroom with three single beds. This bedroom gives onto the outside terrace with seating area

There’s a bathroom on the second floor with two sinks, a bath, shower and second toilet.

You will have access to all amenities that we also use. The only thing we ask that you respect the place and threat it like it is your own.

D’abord, si vous voulez on peux aussi se communiquer en Français (Laure, ma femme est française de Lyon alors moi aussi j’ai du apprendre pas mal :-). Si non communication en anglais sans aucun problème.

When you will arrive at our place, we probably won’t be there (since you will stay there :-). Ana, our great Nanny will let you in, show you around and make sure you’re comfortable! Ana speaks English, Spanish and Brazilian and should you have any worries during your stay she will be around the corner.

How to get to our place
It doesn’t really matter how you arrive to Amsterdam, it’s always easy to get to our place. We will send you detailed information upon your arrival but just to give you an idea:

From Schiphol Airport: it will take you about 30 minutes to get to our place by train although you could also take a taxi (20 minutes and about 40 euros)

From Amsterdam Central Station: it will take you about 30 minutes by Tram from Central Station to get to our place

By Car: it’s still fairly easy to find a parking space in our area but keep in mind that from (phone number hidden) you need to pay around 2,40 euros per hour

TIP: Before coming over download the “9292” App on you mobile phone. It’s a very easy to use and tells you the quickest way to get from A to B in the Amsterdam (and The Netherlands) using public transportation

Getting Around in Amsterdam
It’s about a 10-minute bike or tram ride to the ‘tourist part’ of the city. We like to recommend you to rent a bike for the duration of your stay (there are several places available to rent a bike and we will let you know which ones they are closest to the house).

Other ways to get around by Tram or Bus and of course by foot :)

Our place is some 5 minutes by bike from the famous restaurant and bar area, 'De Pijp'. Not as busy as the neighborhood around 'Dam Square', we highly prefer this area above the center of Amsterdam which can get quit busy.

We're a pretty mixed family and (depending on their mood) my three kids speak French (my wife is French), Spanish (we just came back from living in Barcelona for 5 years) or Dutch to me. Keeps things interesting.

We like traveling and stay at peoples homes is the best way of traveling for us.
