Riverstone Cottage is a quiet and tranqil cottage situated opposite the entrance to Springbrook National Park and just a short 400mt walk to Purlingbrook Falls. You can enjoy the many bushwalks in the area or just relax at the cottage.

Riverstone Cottage was built from true round river stone gathered from the banks of the Nerang River, when materials were scarce and austerity was the only way of life. A humble, simple home which sheltered the body and nurtured the soul, is now the perfect place to remember a better time.

Owned originally by a garden loving grandma who planted out the lawns with bulbs and lovingly planted Camilias, Gardenias, Michelias, Hydrangeas and May Hedge to complement the tall Liquid Ambers and Gums. Today it is an established garden which brings joy to all who play within it's vistas and stroll upon it's lawns. Here native plants happily florish with the gardens of your grandmothers day, and it is the blending of the two that brings peace to all our senses.

In these throw away times we need to know not all is lost and destroyed by our consumer phase, somethings that have been protected and loved everyday are here for us all to enjoy.

Situated at the entrance to Springbrook National Park and only a short 400mt walk to Purlingbrook Falls, Riverstone cottage is a great place for bush walking. Remember to bring all walking equipment e.g. hat, water bottle, map, torch. insect repellent and you can walk for as long, or as short as you wish. Many people simply wish to sit in the bush and listen to the babbling brooks and the birds, or bring an easle and paint the native plants. Others want to play the piano in the lounge room and sing. Whatever it is you want, you can get away from it all and be yourself at Riverstone Cottage.

A general store is within walking distance and is open 7 days from 8.30 ish to 5.30 ish Across the road is a cafe and light meals are served from 10.30 ish to 4 ish. Within driving distance are restaurants of your choosing.

On a clear dark night you my wish to indulge the, 'star gazer' in you and walk to 'The Observatory' to be in awe at the wonders of the universe . Also commonly visited are the many glow worm colonies, which are only a short drive up the mountain . Some have guided tours where you can learn all about the life cycle of these amazing creatures.

Many walks with wonderful views are around Springbrook Mountain, brochures will be at the cottage.

Remember Springbrook is a rainforest and as such has a high rainfall. Although rain maybe inconvenient, it is (like sand at the beach) part of the deal. llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Riverstone Cottage is a one bedroom dwelling, with open plan lounge, dining and kitchen. Off the lounge is bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet.

The kitchen is fully self contained with
microwave and hotplate, skillet and BBQ grill.

The TV is a large flat screen with DVD.

Linen and 4 towels are provided at no extra charge.

The cottage has a separate laundry with washing machine and drier.

There is an electric blanket and an electric fire for snuggling up on cold, rainy nights.

Tanks store ample pure rain water for all your needs, but we encourage thoughtful usage in the dryer months.

A car port near the cottage provides shelter for your car however in the very wet weather we advise parking in Kuralboo Rd on the bitumen.

As little or as much as the visitor wishes.

Step back in time to when life was quieter and simpler, when the air was fresh and you had a moment to think. Welcome to Riverstone Cottage Springbrook, where you can enjoy bushwalking in pristine national parks and swim in crystal clear creeks. Treat yourself to a much needed recharge. Eat well, sleep well and play as much as you want. Go back to your life with a spring in your step, knowing that you can always get away to a place some people call heaven on earth.

Arriving by car is the simplest way to the cottage, but if you are fit +++ you could bicycle up the mountain.

Wonderful little cottage across the road from the cafe and National Park. Steve was a wonderful host, who kept us informed, made us feel welcome and even left little extras to make our stay special. It was our first trip to Springbrook and staying at Riverstone Cottage, made our visit perfect.

Steves cottage is an idyllic retreat opposite the rain forest national park. We walked from the house through the rain forest to waterfalls and swimming holes. There is a delightful cafe close by which does scones and good coffee . The cottage has an amazing garden with beautiful flowers and lots of shady places to sit. The cottage is well equipped and very homely. This has been one of the highlights of our visit to Australia and is not to be missed!

Steve is the most helpful and friendly host I have met on AirBnB, the cottage is very old fashioned and quaint. I was a little troubled by the car park next to cottage and the bars on the windows, but we enjoyed our stay and being so close to the falls. Note light sleepers, the bed is very bouncy and noisy. Made a suggestion to Steve that the slats might be the problem.

Nous n'avons pas vu Steve, mais sa belle-mère nous a accueilli très chaleureusement L'emplacement est très central, mais aucun restaurant n'est ouvert à proximité pour dîner, donc il faut apporter des provisions

The cottage is in a fantastic location, just moments from the national park. We really enjoyed the beautiful garden as well, especially sitting outside on the verandah surrounded by spring flowers in bloom. The house is homely and unpretentious. Steve is a very gracious host, leaving many treats for our stay. Communication was first rate throughout.
