Hi Jen and family. We are so sorry that your stay was not to your expectations. And I do apologize in that I should have been a little more clear the terms of “Quite Times” as we were listing on Air BNB (the terminology is a little limited in regards to the listing), but our vision was to offer a little rustic authenticity away from much of the noise of the outside world. Since the Home was built over 150 years ago and without electricity, we were attempting to provide a more authentic experience away from the hustle and bustle of the world. (At the same time though, we should realize that that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea so to speak).
Though small, Reynolds Georgia has a lot to offer in the goodness of its people. Like a lot of rural South Georgia towns, a good portion of it doesn’t have much to offer from an economic perspective, but it’s rich with history, and offers a slice of the authentic Southern flair. From our little restaurants, to our Post office and churches where everyone knows each other, we wish that you guys would’ve had the time to explore here locally.
In regards to the lights being off at a certain time, I wish that we had taken the time to show you guys the upstairs light switches. Being our first guests, we were more or less attempting to stay out of your way and allow you free reign of the home so that you could enjoy its amenities. We have been working for months renovating this beautiful old home so that we could get it ready for our guest to enjoy, it was a huge job, and even though we were over 90% ready, we wish that we could’ve had the other two rooms available upstairs as well. In regards to Dexter, he wanted desperately to be able to meet with you guys and to spend time with you, but he was so very busy that day (he loves people and is a people person).
This bed and breakfast is our dream, and we want nothing more than to utilize it as an extension of our ministry by being able to serve people, offer them a reprieve, and to provide a place of solitude so that they can be refreshed and recharged. We so appreciate your feedback, and we do apologize for falling short in accommodating our first guest. That being said, whenever you guys are in the area again, your next visit is free on us. Please stop back by and we will hopefully have many of your suggestions instituted by then.
Anyway, we will definitely be working to improve the atmosphere and we hope to be adding a TV to one of the common rooms in the very near future, as well as upgrading the internet router so that it will cover this massive home. We had hoped to have it done prior to your stay with us, but we just weren’t able to finalize it in time.
I really enjoyed spending time with you guys while you were here! You guys are a wonderful family, and we wish you nothing but the best for the future.
May God richly bless y’all,
Dexter and Amanda Sherrell
