We spent one month in Laurent's apartment and had a great experience! The apartment was clean and everything worked perfectly. There is a little balcony with door to the kitchen which must be really to sit on during summer.
Opposite to the balcony is a big stone wall behind which there are few orange trees and high above in the distance you can see and hear the famous waterfall.
The house itself is very old with a very narrow and somewhat steep staircase (could pose problems when bringing up baggage) but that's precisely what lends this apartment a very unique and cosy feel.
Really recommended to those seeking quiet and peaceful refuge at the heart of a truly magnificent city!
Laurent is super helpful and will help you with anything you'd need.
We hope to be back one day! :)
Laurent is wonderful and we'd definitely recommend his '2 room apartment in old fisherman'. Our morning would start out with coffee in bed with the window and shutters open where we had a view of an orange tree, could hear birds singing, children playing and listen to the soothing sound of a waterfall. Great location in the old village and within easy walking distance of the beach, the market, places to eat and the bus.
The apartment was in a great location but has too many stairs up a narrow staircase if you have kids.
My wife and I stayed in this apartment in old Nice for only two nights and had a very pleasant stay. The location could not be better unless you absolutely must have something with a view of the water. The view in the photo is of course not from the apartment itself, but one can be on the beach in under 5 minutes walk. It is directly above the famous open air markets of Cours Saleya.
Laurent was very pleasant and hospitable. The apartment is an ideal place to stay for several days with a full kitchen and washing machine facilities, television, and wifi. It is cozy, with a nice balcony.
Slight criticisms: There was no toilet tissue, which we had to find and purchase. This seems to be standard when renting an apartment in Europe (we experienced the same thing in Roma several years ago), but it is a little tacky from an American perspective. The last thing I want to do when I've been traveling all day in a foreign country is to go find the most bare amenities and purchase them myself. We were also expected to wash the sheets and towels and hang them to dry, but no detergent was provided. This is just bothersome and creates a hidden expense. I would rather pay an extra 5-10 Euro for the room and not have to figure all that out. Incredibly, we were there to see the Tour de France the following day, and I caught liquid laundry detergent packets being thrown out by a sponsor in the Caravan! Quel coincidence!
Lastly, the main room and bedroom do have air conditioning, but we did not use them. Sleeping with the window open was very comfortable. However - I was eaten alive by mosquitoes. This is obviously NOT a criticism of Laurent's apartment, but a warning to others visiting Nice in July. I would close the windows at night. Of course it is safer too.
I would definitely rent a place from Laurent again, although I might negotiate for the detergent and TP to be provided in advance..
Laurent was fantastic. It went very smoothly he helped us carry our bags to the apartment and showed us around the place as well as gave us recommendations on Nice. The apartment is very well located in Vieux Nice (which is old town) which is where everyone comes to have dinner and for the markets each day. The apartment was very clean and tidy it was just perfect for my husband and I! Nice and quiet for sleeping, cool in the evenings and a great gentle breeze. The balcony is so cute and you can hear the waterfall which is so peaceful. All in all Laurent was an amazing host, he was always available for any questions we had! We will definitely be back!!
We had a very pleasant vacation in Laurents very clean apartment.
It cannot be more central, in a very quiet location and the balcony is so pleasant. Laurent is such a nice host. 5 stars out of 5 ;-)
Parfait petit appartement dans le vieux Nice. Calme et très joliment décoré. petits déjeuner le matin au soleil sur le petit balcon.
We did have a lovely stay! I couldn't say anything more then perfect!!! The apartment is in best location you can ask for, central to the best restaurants and to the city center, close to the beach, I actually went running every morning. We parked car when arrived and didn't move it until we left. You can easily reach everything by foot.
Laurent is a great host very helpfull and nice. He also gave us the card for parking, which is very helpfull because park there is lot expensive. Thanks Laurent! I'll definately come back.
The apartment is very well located, in the old town. The communication with Laurent was great and fast, checkin/checkout were smooth.
The apartment has a cute balkony with sun in the morning/noon, which is great for breakfast & brunch (with tasty stuff from old bakery 2 walk minutes away). The apartment is very small, for 3 guests it was on its limits.
The house is very old and the ground floor was very smelly, which was annoying when we walked in/out. Inside the apartment it was good. The cleanliness is okay, but could be improved. It was very quiet and we had no issues with any noise.
Very central and cosy. Laurent picked us up at the bus station, so we didn't had problems to find the appartment. Unfortunately shower and TV didn't work properly, but Laurent organized a plumber, so that everything was fine the day after.
