PandaFaerie House is inspired by the tall bamboo that reaches high into the bathroom window in the Panda TeaTemple.
Panda TeaTemple is a converted attic with a varying ceiling profile - cosmic in geometric gesture with an imaginative folklorico personality. Spacious windows have views of Mt Tabor park and gardens creating a beautiful ambiance. Private bathroom has a shower + bathtub.
Ideal for 1-2 people.
Bed is queen-size, natural foam-core/natural wool futon mattress made locally. We have an additional bed (tri-fold mattress with traditional Japanese futon, if necessary). The giant Cocoon also can flatten and makes a great kid bed.
Hardwood floors. PandaFaerie House was constructed in 1911 and has plenty of character. You may notice that some areas of the flooring will squeak & creak occasionally.
100% green house cleaning, laundry soap products (Bio-Kleen, Ecover, Method, Seventh Generation, Bon Ami).
Our gardens are organic.
Arriving from the Portland Airport is easy by public transportation, taxi or self-driving.
Guests use the main house entrance. Access to Panda TeaTemple is from the 1st floor through a lockable door up a flight of stairs.
Parking is available off-street in front of the house.
Panda TeaTemple provides coffee + tea supplies, a small fridge, convection toaster oven.
Guests may use kitchen and onsite laundry.
Feel free to enjoy the garden, front porch and living room.
During the winter there is a fabulous hearth and fires are available. In the summer, there is a hibachi grill if you want to do outside cooking. We also have a subzero freezer if local distilleries need proper tending.

I love traveling and I LOVE even more being a host of travelers - whatever brings you on your journey, work or love or experience!
I started traveling by myself when I was 18 in 1989. Long before there was email and all of the cool things to support backpackers today, I had traveled many places; I survived and thrived because people gave me food, took me around, gave me lodging, rides to the airport and took care of me when I got sick. So, I am always looking for the opportunity to help people out on their journeys!
My greatest travel passion is visiting national parks in eastern and southern Africa - so far I have been to 17 parks and I am in love with African wildlife and cultures.
But besides Africa, I love SE Asia culture - especially the food; I love Italian culture - especially the language; and, more than anything, I want to go to Mongolia, Bhutan, Khazakstan and Wales.
I am very much into the Slow philosophy as a lifestyle - I am an avid gardener and adventurously good cook.
My biggest dream is to travel the world via dirigible.
As your host at PandaFaerie House here in Portland on Mt. Tabor, you will always find local roasted micro lot organic fair trade coffee or organic hand picked tea, a nearly complete Charles Bukowski collection for your reading voyeurism and a totally friendly greeting committee comprised of my dog, Bunny aka TACO.
