This private room in a cozy house is only 10 min to Portland's bustling Old Port, while on a quiet cul-de-sac. It has a stocked kitchen, plenty of space to store food, free coffee & tea. It has a beautiful backyard, a hot tub, a fire pit with Adirondack chairs, and a grill. The beds are comfortable. This is one of 3 rented out rooms upstairs. A quiet hours' policy (10pm-8am) applies. Headphones provided to watch TV past 10pm. 1 parking space included, and only # of guests booked allowed.

Lo spazio
My house is unique because I bought it with AirBnB in mind. The rooms are designed for maximum comfort. The house is cozy and the location is quiet. The house offers the opportunity to mingle in the living room or to spend private time in your room, and the backyard is heavenly.

If you are more than 2 people, but want to pay less for the “shared” experience, you have a couple options: (1) You could book through another listing for the same house that reserves all 3 bedrooms upstairs and allows for either myself or someone of my choosing (i.e. a family member or friend) to stay in the basement section of the house and share common spaces: www.airbnb.com/rooms/22276367.

(2) Alternatively, you could book one or both of the two other private bedrooms upstairs (if they are available the nights you want). Note that quiet hours of 10pm-8am apply when you haven’t reserved all 3 upstairs bedrooms because I care about everyone having a pleasant night. I’ve provided 2 bluetooth headphones in each of the 3 rooms to allow for tv watching in the bedrooms without disturbing anyone past 10pm.

If you want total privacy, book the "entire house": https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/23037153. I live in a quiet neighborhood on a cute cul-de-sac and expect that anyone who stays will consider my neighbors, maintaining the same respect as if they lived at my house year-round.

Accesso per gli ospiti
This is a gorgeous home that is well set up for your arrival. You will have complete privacy in your bedroom, the Monet room. You will also have a key that locks your door.

The shared space includes the bathrooms, the kitchen, the living room, the office, the dining room and the deck. You will also get to enjoy the spacious, fun backyard.

There are three bedrooms upstairs and your room ("the Monet room") has a full-sized bed. You will have your own TV complete with access to apple tv (Netflix, HBO Go and Showtime are available for your use, as well as other apps) and local channels. Also, you will find space to hang your clothes or put them away in empty drawers.

There is a full bathroom upstairs. There you will find an iron and ironing board, shampoo/conditioner in the shower and ample extra towels should you need them during your stay. You will find towels on your bed when you arrive.

Downstairs you have access to a cozy living room with one of the best entertainment systems you will find anywhere. The reason it is so impressive is because there is a large flat screen TV (65 inch) with amazing resolution and a surround sound system with some of the best speakers money can buy. The TV in the living room has local channels, a DVD/Blueray player, and a 4th generation apple tv that you can use. You will find Netflix, HBO Go, Showtime and other apps you can use for free. Keep in mind that you may be sharing this house with others, and this living room is a shared space.

There is a beautiful dining table I made myself with my dad out of Oak (he is a master woodworker), a deck off the dining room, a fully-stocked kitchen, a downstairs bathroom and an office complete with a mini library (organized by genres!). I have no problem with you taking books from the library to read as long as you return them to where you found them before you leave.

The hot tub is in the backyard next to the deck and you will feel a lot of privacy (though there are neighbors around so I ask you not be disruptive so I don't get any complaints). However, of course you may be sharing the hot tub with other guests from the other bedrooms. If you'd like to request 30 minutes of private hot tub use during your stay, message me in advance of your visit. Note that with 3 rented-out rooms, others may do the same. I will let you know of any "reserved" hot tub time before your arrive. You must read the "Hot Tub Rules" located in your room/ near the sliding door before you go in the hot tub, as entering the hot tub represents that you agreed to the rules.

There is also a fire pit with Adirondack chairs in warmer months and if you're interested in using the fire pit, let me know in a message before you book and I'll tell you how you may be able to use it. There is a hammock in the backyard in warmer months, too, along with flower gardens.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
I have a house manual I'd like you to read once you book (can find it digitally under listing details on the airbnb platform). It contains even more details about my expectations for guests staying in my house - they are in the same vein as what you've already read before you booked. Some guests have loved the clear communication, while others haven't. As you can imagine, I must have rules and instructions because there are 3 rooms and shared spaces here. In other words, please don't book if you're uncomfortable with this arrangement. Please read the house manual within 48 hours of booking, and if you decide it is not the right fit, you can cancel penalty-free within this 48 hour window.
Quiet hours are 10pm - 8am.
Portland requires that AirBnB hosts have registration numbers. Mine is #5312.
House is monitored by security system - cameras are outside the house in front and back.

New to Portland? You're in for a treat.

The food scene is out of this world. Portland, Maine has been named the "Best American City for Food" by Daily Meal and it is ranked among the top 20 of "America's Best Food Cities" by the Huffington Post. There are so many (I mean SO many) incredible places to eat just minutes away from this house.

Portland is also known for its craft beer. Many breweries have been born here and if you are a beer-lover, you will want to try them out. When you get here, just search "brewery" on your smartphone map and you'll see about 20 pop up within a 15 minute drive. They are so much fun.

My house is also close to the water and you can access multiple beautiful beaches from the house. They range from a 5 min drive (East End Beach) to a 25 min drive (Old Orchard Beach) and there are many other ones in between. You may be able to borrow a beach umbrella and beach towels from me. Also I may have a bike or two available for rent. Just ask if interested.

My house is just a few minutes walk from this trail system: http://trails.org/our-trails/ocean-ave-recreation-area/

Do you want to visit the islands? Just search "Casco Bay Lines" online to learn about the nearby ferry service that can take you for a day trip to one or more of our breathtaking islands.

You'll love this place - it is the perfect getaway. I have put a lot of effort into this house so that you will love your stay and have everything you need.

I am 31 years old and I grew up in Falmouth, Maine before I left to explore parts of the world. I returned to law school in Maine in 2012 and am currently practicing as an attorney in Portland. I love meeting new people, hearing stories and sharing stories. I love adventures, music, cooking, dancing, and most importantly, traveling.

Durante il tuo soggiorno
I used to travel around Europe and meet wonderful new friends in hostels. I would like my house to be a place where you can make a new friend staying here, but also you can retreat to your room and have private time. Only open-minded friendly people are invited. :)
