Tokyo Little House is an accommodation and tourist space located in a 70-year old house at the heart of ever-changing Tokyo.
Upstairs is a private residential hotel. Downstairs, a cafe and gallery.

Built in a field of ruins in 1948, our little house watched the city emerge from the darkness of ashes into the glow of today's neon lights. The second-floor accommodation lets travelers experience a family home that has endured through seven decades of Tokyo's transformation.

Lo spazio
A refuge from commotion
----------
Tokyo Little House is one of the last wooden houses remaining in modern Akasaka. Home to our family for three generations, we renovated the second floor into a private residential hotel that evokes mid-century life in Tokyo. The living room retains its original appearance of earthen walls and tatami mats, yet offers an intimate view of the bustling neon-lit street just below. The bedroom has been fully renovated with wooden floors, a vaulted ceiling, and plaster walls. The fully stocked kitchen, toilet, shower, and washing machine are also new.

In addition to the queen-size bed and single sofa bed, two Japanese futon may be laid out in the living room for up to five guests. The total floor area is under 40 square meters and there is no separation between the two rooms, so the space is best suited for families and close groups of friends. The space includes a full kitchen, as well as a brand-new shower, toilet, and washing machine.

Guests are welcome to have a free drink in the first floor cafe, which contains a curated historical exhibit on postwar Tokyo and a library of photo books, old magazines, maps, and other rare documents that open a window onto the city as seen by those who lived through its textured past.

Accesso per gli ospiti
The entire second floor is a private space for guests that may be accessed from the street by digital lock. The first floor cafe is open from 11-5 every day except Sunday and holidays.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
The 70-year-old house has been retrofitted with insulation and new windows, but Akasaka is a lively entertainment district, and the street outside can be noisy between 10 PM and 1 AM, especially on weekends. We provide earplugs, but guests who are sensitive to noise may be bothered by the occasional drunken salaryman.
Also please be aware that the stairs to the second floor are steep (there is a railing). We help carry luggage up during check-in.
