Salaam Alaikum,
Welcome to an authentic traditional house. I am from an Arabic Bedouin family. I was born and raised in a cave of Petra. I spent years in the surrounding red mountains with our stock. Recently me and my family were resettled to the village of Uum Sayhoun. Here, a bit away from the beaten tourist track, you can have the most unique experience of local culture, try real, homemade Bedouin food and see how our nomadic tribe used to live for centuries.
Ahlan wa sahlan

Lo spazio
!Here you get a private room (of double bed, or 4 separate beds, depending on your choice) that you will share only with your friends!
This is an authentic traditional Bedouin house run by a humble family from the local community. Till recently we used to live in the caves of Palastum Mountains, but we were translocated to a small village of Uum Sayhoun where we, along with other Bedouins, set up our new home. Maybe you won't find here all of the modern amenities, but the spirit of century long customs will make up for it. Here, a bit away from the beaten tourist track, you can have the most unique experience of local culture, try real, homemade Bedouin food and see how our nomadic tribe used to live for hundreds of years. There is no light pollution in Uum Sayhoun so you can enjoy starry nights with bonfire and deliciously seasoned Bedouin grilled meat. Feel free to join us in the tent for our sweet mint, sage, cardamom or cinnamon tea, around fragrant shisha pipe, and desert stories. If you are a daredevil and want to see how real Bedouins lived few decades ago, I can take you to our old cave where we can spend a night. Please let me know in advance though.
Anyway, Bedouins are famous for their hospitality, so come as a guest and leave us a friend. Ahlan wa sahlan! Ila Liqaa, my friend.
Extra:
We can cook for you, or you can use our kitchen and cook for yourself, if you prefer it that way. You can eat in the house, we can prepare a lunch box for your daytrip to Petra / surrounding mountains, or we can dine under the stars, the local style with blankets beneath you, stars above your head and bonfire with grilling food just in front.
Breakfast 3JD
Lunch 5JD (boxed or in the house)
Dinner 10JD (in the house) / 25JD (out in the mountains)
Beside the private rooms we also have a tent were you an stay on the mattresses and cushions like a real Bedouin. The price is 7JD (equals around $10)
My family have goats and lives the old way, but I am a tour guide in Petra. It is my official job to help our humble household with some actual income. I grew up in these mountains so I know every nook and cranny, every canyon, pass, cave and trail. If you want I can take you on a trip away from the crowds. The official back entrance is actually 5min away from my house, walking. The main tourist visitor center is close from here, too, it sits at 2,5km. Siq Al-Barid, Petra's smaller version is nearby, too. It is free of charge. Beside I could take you to the less known places that most of the tourist don't ever get to see. For more details, feel free to contact me. If I write about it here, crowds may come and the places will lose their beautiful, tranquil appeal.

Accesso per gli ospiti
Kitchen, living room, tent and garden are all common areas.
All the utensils in the kitchen are there for you to use.
We have towels for you but please bring your own soap.
To respect the privacy of other guests I would kindly ask not to enter other private rooms.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
I recommand you to buy the Jordan Pass if you stay in Jordan at least more than 3 or 4 days. It is available on the website (URL HIDDEN) in 3 different prices (70, 75 or 80 JOD) depending on the number of days you want to stay in Petra. It has a lot of advantages : the entry VISA is included, as well as the free entry to over 40 attractions in all Jordan.

A humble Bedouin neighborhood in a small village. Many small houses, huts and enclosures for animals can be seen around. No big or tall buildings. Horses, camels and donkeys can be seen around. They are still the main mean of transportation for the majority of Bedouins here. There area is very peaceful and quiet, especially at night. There are some small local shops and restaurants to be found in the village center. Nothing fancy, they serve simple authentic food, but delicious and in a very low price in comparison to Wadi Musa. Many people speak basic English so you don't have to worry about the communication.
