"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next excursion."
~ Henry David Thoreau

Thank you for understanding.
Lisa was an excellent host! She was very friendly and communicative, answering all of our questions about the tiny cottage before we arrived. We were running a little late as we arrived but it was no issue. She greeted us promptly as we arrive and gave us a tour of the property.
She went out of her way to make us feel very welcome, leaving fresh fruit, juice, bread, coffee and tea!
The cottage and downstairs kitchen and living area were just as expected. There were plenty of instructions posted so that we knew what to do with trash, keys, etc.
The kitchen was perfect for cooking and we enjoyed breakfast there both mornings. The bathroom was sparkling clean and had everything we needed... even bright white fluffy towels!
We loved the little cottage and it was a very unique and special place. I would happily stay again if I'm in the area. Thank you, Lisa, for your wonderful hospitality!
The tiny cottage was great! Lisa and Steve were very hospitable and friendly. They were gracious host and the place was very nice and clean. The tiny cottage and basement area was great and had everything I needed. It was in a great location and easy to get to. Very comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you.
Lisa was an incredible host! I loved the cottage! It was so perfect for me and my husband. She paid attention to every single detail and was so hospitable! The bed was so comfortable, probably the best sleep I have gotten in years!! And I loved the essential oil smells throughout the home they were peaceful and refreshing. My husband couldn't stop talking about how much he loved the shower hahaha! We very much enjoyed are stay and looking forward to coming back when I have to complete another intensive.
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a week while I took an intensive at Liberty. This was our second visit to the cottage, and it was great! Lisa does a wonderful job making everything comfortable and cozy. The towels and bedding are so soft, and everything is clean and smells great. Both the cottage and the living areas have heaters so we were perfectly warm during a chilly evening. Lisa thinks of everything- we had all the amenities we needed. I highly recommend her for anyone staying in the Lynchburg area.
Lisa made us feel most welcome at the Tiny Cottage. Before arriving, she asked us about some of our preferences, and was kind enough to provide some healthy, light breakfast and snack options for us.
When we arrived, she and Steve gave us "the tiny tour" and made some suggestions on where to go/what to do in Lynchburg. We did end up going to two of their suggestions and it was great.
The cottage bed itself is comfortable, and she has excellent pillows! It's got a memory foam topper or is memory foam. The environment was serene and peaceful and they definitely gave us lots of privacy. She even offered to take our picture for us in front of the cottage.
The living room has a comfortable couch and two comfortable chairs, lots of books to peruse, a faux fireplace which made it cozy. The TV does have a DVD player. The kitchen has a fridge, full stove, sink, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom was also equipped quite normally and lots of hot water. She also provides very soft and fluffy towels!
Perfect getaway, except that when we happened to go it was cold! But that is really not the norm here (well, compared to what we are used to in PA!)
Lisa and Steve were excellent and very accommodating hosts. The listing is exactly as it is stated. It's charming And very close to the Liberty campus. And it is the MOST comfortable bed ever!!!
