Stephanie, we're sorry that you were unhappy with your stay. We cleaned and prepared the apartment just as we would for any other guest, and have not received these same complaints. As Bob mentioned via Airbnb messenger, my brother very suddenly and expectedly passed away. In the days before your arrival, Bob and I were busy grieving with my family and helping my parents plan my brothers wake, which took place on Saturday during your check in. That's why we weren't able to hand deliver your key and walk you through the space. We just assumed that you would be understanding of this. If you had any issues or complaints (the bottle of cleaning spray, clean dishes left drying in the drying rack, the swifter mop in the kitchen, etc) during your stay, perhaps you should have addressed them to us while you were here, via AirBnB messenger. As we had mentioned in earlier messages to you, we were more than willing to provide anything that you needed, if you would just have asked.
For our future guests, we'll be sure to put the bottle of cleaning spray back under the sink, and crank up the thermostat (even though I had it set at 70 degrees). Furthermore, no other guest has ever complained about a lingering smell- you were probably smelling the Lysol that we spray to disinfect the unit in between guests. The fresh and *free* coffee has been refilled. We're sorry about any noise the dogs made, but we do have outlined in our profile that we own 2 dogs, just so that our guests are made aware. Perhaps in the future, look into booking a hotel to meet your specific accommodations.
