Make your stay in Cebu a memorable one with a nice old Filipino house near Capitol built in 1954 at the center of Cebu City, Philippines. With like-minded companions, we are slowly and lovingly making and crafting everything by ourselves. We’ve been completely hands-on for this project.
We are opening an Art Cafe (soft opening September 16-17) on the first floor while the second floor is exclusively a guesthouse for travelers and people who plan to study abroad.
The house is charmingly antique, built in 1954. Although it is structurally okay, the house is quite old so we specially attend to do repairs from time to time to preserve its vintage beauty.
Our dormitory is purposely built customized for global travelers- double size & longer bunk beds: 6'5 ft tall & 4 ft wide. If you feel like you're too tall for the usual asian beds, maybe our dormitory beds can make a difference ;)
There is a living space on each floor which serves as the common area and a wonderful place to interact with local and international visitors alike. The living space on the second floor is solely dedicated to our guests while the first floor, we are opening an Art Cafe serving the general public in mid September. Yes we are all excited!!!
Interazione con gli ospiti
Most of us are Japanese and Filipinos at the house ages 20s-30s. :)
I'm mostly at the house daytime and/or online if not at the house.-TOMO
If you need anything like going around town, recommendations, I'm here mostly early mornings and evenings and/or online if not at the house.-TAPATI
Apart from both of us, we have Oka & Aki (Japanese) and April & Ruby (Filipina) and Bebop Huni (4 yr old Filipina-American Indian) who you would eventually meet in the house :)
Once the Art Cafe opens, you'd be sure to meet both locals and foreigners alike.
Altre cose da evidenziare
At the moment, our home is a work-in-progress— an interesting mix of old elements and new. Our house is a special home to us and we are constantly putting things together, piece by piece, especially with the kind of energy that our guests like you contribute to the place during your stay. So far there has been rare power outages or slow water pressure, the soundscape of the neighborhood is relatively quiet so all sounds from within the house, the streets and neighbors are heard—from the sweet chirping of the birds in the morning, neighbors' dogs barking, to next-door church praise and worship singing every 3pm-8pm. These are the kind of adjustments that gets u to experience living a life of a local Cebuano, NO FRILLS. If you value authenticity, genuine relationships and soulful encounters this would definitely be the place for you.
