Guidos wife met us and gave us the tour. She was very sweet and helpful and let's us in earlier than originally organised. The place is comfortable and clean, and was a good base to explore the cinque terre from. Thanks Guido!
It was a great stay. Close to Cinque Terre, was 2 euros 40 one way by train. I strongly recommend staying in La Spezia and doing day trips to Cinque Terre. The reason being I found the towns themselves being really touristy. Guido's apartment was extremely close to the station, super clean and kid friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Guido was a great and very accommodating host. He worked with us after our train was delayed and we ended up getting in 3 hours later than expected. Location was great. 5 minute walk to the train station to Cinque Terre, and 5 minute walk to the bus stop to Porto Venere. Also very close to the main walking street in La Spezia, which in itself is a very interesting town. It reminded us a bit of Nice, France.
There are plenty of beds to accommodate up to 7, but there is not much additional living space (the apartment is reasonably sized, but the pictures make it look bigger than it is). As long as you are out and about, this is not an issue.
Would definitely stay there again!
Guido is very flexible and kind. We arrived 5 hours before we planned and he still made it possible for us to check-in and gave us useful recommendations. The apartment is very well located, close to the train station, making it very practical for the 5 Terre visits. It is big and spacy, however, a bit too full of stuff for our taste. All Inferno, the Tratorria that Guido recommended was very good. Thank you!
Guido was very helpful - particularly as we booked the apartment at short notice. He was kind enough to meet us outside and help us with the bags up to the apartment while I went to park the car nearby.
The apartment was nice and couldn't be more convenient for the train station - just a few minutes walk so very easy to park the car there and return in the morning for the train to Cinque Terre.
Although generally clean and spacious a few minor points: I was a little disappointed to find mold in the shower (presumably just where the screen had been shut while wet and then left - nothing terrible just not great for more discerning guests) and the double bed was not made up. I suspect Guido thought that me and my friend would manage in the one room in seperate single beds which indeed would have been fine however we had paid extra to get a two bedroom place as after two weeks on the road we wanted to treat ourselves with separate bedrooms and unfortunately the single beds were not very comfortable.
Things for guests to know: there is no living room. If you read the description carefully and look at the pictures you will realise this but I was confused at first when I realised the only communal space for us to sit and plan the rest of our journey was in the kitchen. Also, I couldn't get wifi reception from the large bedroom unless I stood by the door. Thirdly, there is no access to the nice mezzanine library area in the master bedroom as the ladder is padlocked to the wall.
Overall it was a good stay and I would definitely recommend it to other guests for it's size, location and host.
Thank you Sarah for taking the time for writing this very detailed review, and also for the private feedback.
We appreciate your advice a lot. Be sure that your suggestions will all be carefully taken into consideration.
Ciao, hope we'll meet again in the future.

Guido was a great host! He was very prompt in his communications and went out of his way to meet us timely. The apartment was very nice, and exactly as described. It was but a short walk down the street from the train station, and a short walk into the centrum. I only wish we could have stayed longer!
The stay at guido's residence was a great experience. Guido is an excellent host, helpfull, kind, understanding are still less words to describe him. Moreover the house was extremely clean and well kept , with all the necessary eminities. I would like to thank guido to make our stay in la spezia wonderful. I highly recommend him. :-)
Very comfortable and cosy appartment. The rooms are both large size.
The host was very friendly and helpful and speaks very good English.
Definately recommend this accommodation.
Guido was a fabulous host, he waited outside the apartment to welcome us. He also gave us good recommendations on where to go.
The location is fantastic. It is just a short walk to the train station and there are many amenities around (a fresh food market, supermarkets, shops, etc). It is also very close to Cinque terre so it was the perfect base to stay.
Unfortunately, the wifi was down throughout our stay, so that created a bit of inconvenience but we still enjoyed our stay there. The water heater also malfunctioned during our stay but Guido came down very quickly to fix it.
