Stunning views, exceptionally clean and quiet.
Only two miles from the Plaza (downtown Santa Fe) my artistically decorated home is on a safe, quiet cul-de-sac where all the neighbors know eachother. The property backs onto a greenbelt where you can hike and see wildlife. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the back portal while watching the birds or have a glass of wine on the front patio in the evening and catch the sunset on the mountians as the city lights twinkle. In winter be cozy by the gas fireplace and contemplate the gently falling snow.
The inviting guest bedroom has a queen bed, nightstands with reading lamps, a large closet with shelves and hangers along with a newly renovated private bath with tub. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, two terry robes and a hair drayer are provided. You will have full access to the living, dining, kitchen and laundry, WIFI, and off street parking. The water from the fridge is filtered. While I do have a large screen TV , excessive TV watching is discouraged. A DVD collection is available. The house is cooled by an evaporative cooler and heated with natural gas/electric. To accommodate my many guests I am keeping the house fragrance free, no perfumes or sexy after shaves, sorry.
Breakfast is a help yourself affair, coffee and tea, granola, yogurt, eggs and english muffins are available for the first few days of your stay but after that you should provide for yourself. My only request is that you do not fry bacon or other fried foods to minimize lingering smells and grease build-up. I do not use milk products or wheat products on a regular basis so if those are essential you can pick them up at the near by health food co-op on the way to my house. A delightful cafe called the "Tune Up" is also just a few blocks away.
If you do not wish to rent a car I am open to picking you up at the train station or the shuttle drop off on Water Street. Bicycles and helmets are available for your use. A bus stop is close by. I love to hike and you are welcome to join me. When I am not working I am happy to do day trips in the surrounding area.
As your host I will let you know of any special events, the best places to eat, where to hike, petroglyphs and ruins to visit, which indian pueblos welcome the public, and when the art galleries are having openings.
I am a working artist and have my studio upstairs so it is important for me to have my space and quiet time to create. The guests I welcome are generally mature lovers of art and culture. I teach papermaking classes so you might want to plan on joining a class while you are here. You can download an application off my website.
For my own sanity I ask that all cell phone calls be conducted in the privacy of your room and not in the shared areas of the house. Thank you.
If you are bringing pets or expecting someone to join you I would like to know that before you make the reservation so we can discuss how they will be accommodated. There may be a pet suppliment.
I look forward to hosting you! If you like to play scrabble, banana gram or ping pong you will get a discount!

Our experience here was just great. Quiet neighborhood, about 5 minutes drive to center of Santa Fe. Her wonderful adobe home backs up to open city land, so a place to climb around if one is interested. Home was cozy, we had a small bedroom with Queen bed, private bath which was great, shampoo, etc provided We had access to wonderful patios, living area with fireplace, and kitchen was available. She had a few breakfast supplies ready for us. Ginny is warm and friendly, provided tips for exploring Santa Fe. We took advantage of a paper making class in her studio which was fun - she's a good teacher.
Ginny is a wonderful host! Your visit to Santa Fe just won't be complete without staying with Ginny in her warm, inviting, Southwestern home. Early reviewers called her home an "oasis," and I would have to agree ... a place of quiet, peace, and beauty. Ginny was very welcoming to both myself and my little pup, Izzy. Upon my arrival, she cooked a wonderful Southwestern pork chop meal, complete with sides and a dessert. The room I stayed in was comfortable and well appointed. Maps of the area were available, as was a binder full of ideas for local must-see attractions. Best of all, I was able to relax and sleep soundly. Following a tour of Georgia O'Keefe's home in Abiquiú, I returned to Ginny's home and was welcomed by a fire and a note upon which Ginny let me know she would be cooking breakfast in the morning. I was grateful for Ginny's hospitality and expertise during my visit, and have recommended her to many friends back home in Denver.
Ginny is incredibly flexible and understanding. You won't be disappointed!
Ginny's place is simply wonderful! The room is very comfortable, private bathroom, and it's lovely to have shampoo etc available - thank you! Ginny's home is just lovely. Comfortable, beautifully decorated in artistic Santa Fe style. Ginny is the perfect host. She gave us suggestions of things to do and see, she even had dinner ready for us on the evening of our arrival, wow!
We had the pleasure of going out with Ginny to some of her favourite places: restaurants, hikes. And explored places on our own too. We were grateful to have the use of bicycles too.
If she had been running a paper-making class while we were staying I would have done that, as it sounds like fun.
This was a lovely, relaxing, interesting, fun experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ginny and her lovely comfortable home. We hope to meet up with Ginny again, somewhere on our mutual travels!
My 5-day stay with Ginny couldn't have been nicer. Her home is lovely! The bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and well-furnished with everything a guest might need, from extra comforter to hair dryer to a book light! Ginny herself was a generous, helpful host who helped make my visit very pleasant. And fun!
Ginny's is an amazing host. She is kind, generous, and very thoughtful to all who enter her home. Her house is comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated with incredible views of the mountains surrounding Santa Fe. I would absolutely recommend her as a host and hope to stay with her again sometime soon!
Ginny was a great host! She is kind and caring and incredibly helpful, even gave me a ride to and from her home sometime instead of taking the bus! Her home is beautiful and she was grateful enough to make me feel as comfortable as possible my entire stay in Santa Fe. I am happy I was able to meet Ginny and will contact her again the next time I'm in the city.
I've just had a most delightful stay at Ginny's lovely authentic Santa Fe style home. She couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating - from preparing a welcoming dinner (and great conversation) to a joining me on a hike up the hills behind her home for a fabulous view of Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. Her spotless home is like a private sanctuary and I loved sitting on the front and back patios enjoying the birds and the beautiful Santa Fe sunsets. I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay - thank you Ginny. I look forward to my next visit at her home - I feel like I have a new friend!
Had a great stay with Ginny! A very kind and helpful host -- and a wonderful home in a beautiful setting. Ginny was warm and welcoming, and readily offered suggestions on things to do and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay.
We had a wonderful time at Ginny's. The house is lovely, near downtown, yet in a quiet neighborhood. Sitting on the patio in the evening or morning and watching the birds or just savoring the silence is a pleasure. Better yet, choose which patio! One for city lights in the evening or one for absolute privacy on the nature preserve.
Ginny is a great host and has every guest need covered, right down to Santa Fe tourist info and shower gel! We got to spend some time together and shared a couple of meals and it was a pleasure to get to know her. At the same time, we never felt we lacked privacy.
We definitely recommend staying with Ginny and hope we can come back some day!
