Robert was an excellent host and the accommodations were very comfortable. His house is in a great location within the very walkable historic district. He was very helpful with providing orientation to the area as well as maps and printed matter with information on places to eat, activities and entertainment. This was our first visit to Savannah and we could only scratch the surface with our 2-night stay. We will likely be back.
Robert and Andrea were very welcoming and helpful. Lovely home and great location made for an enjoyable stay.
The accommodations were just as described. The home was wonderful and in a perfect location. Definitely enjoy the front porch if you have a little down time. The only issue we had was the volume of the conversations the host and his wife had. Other than that minor inconvenience, we would stay here again.
This was my first time using Airbnb, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Robert, the host, was warm and welcoming, and the room was bright and pleasant. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Robert also supplied coffee and a coffeemaker, a small fridge stocked with water, insights into the history and attractions of Savannah, and enjoyable conversation in general. I would happily do a repeat stay.
Staying at Robert's place was great. As soon as we arrived, he quickly showed us around the public areas of the house, and where our room was. After that, he spent about 10 minutes pointing out the nearby grocery store, free bus stops, where to eat & drink, things to see & do, etc. Basically, everything you would need to know to get yourself situated. After that brief overview, he left us alone, for as he put it "you didn't come all this way to see me" lol.
Robert greeted us on the porch and happily explained the town in detail. He had footnoted maps and great recommendations for restaurants, places to see, etc. The room was exactly as pictured, complete with a CLUTCH mini-fridge (with water) and a lovely bathroom. The bed is quite firm, but we didn't mind. Slight hint of smoke in the hallway probably just drafts in when people open the door, and it was very, very faint. We only noticed it when we walked in. Robert and his wife stayed out of sight, out of mind, except when we needed them; ended up having a great, late-night life chat with Robert on the final night of our stay. Neighborhood could not have been more ideal, as it's only a two block walk to forsyth park and the Bull Street walk to the river. Parking was easy, right there on the street!
Robert welcomed us with neighbourhood information, must-visit sites & restaurants not to miss. The room & bathroom are exactly as pictured, clean & quite roomy. The house is located just around the corner from Forsyth Park & only a 10 minute walk to the main area - the location was perfect! As pervious reviewers have mentioned, there is a faint cigarette smoke smell (sometimes stronger than other times) & I probably wouldn't recommend staying here if you'd be sensitive to the smell. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay & we're so thankful for Roberts hospitality throughout our stay.
