We have a 200 year old converted two storey stone barn available for guests to stay in on a working smallholding. Relax in the middle of nowhere in beautiful West Wales and enjoy the countryside, red kites flying overhead, stars, owls at night and beautiful sunsets (plus a bit of rain – it is wales after all!). We are nestled 1000ft above sea level on the edge of the unspoilt and wild Cambrian Mountains, 7 miles from Cardigan Bay and just an hour and a half away from Snowdonia National Park.

Lo spazio
Our barn has two bedrooms, one large double with a big enough space for a travel cot and adjoining this is a twin room with two single beds. Although the barn joins the main farmhouse, it has its own entrance and is fully self contained. There is a large kitchen (with views across the valley), a cosy sitting room with a log burner, stone walls, a dining table and sofas and views across the fields and a newly fitted shower room.

We provide bed linen and towels, but please bring your own towels if you would like to go to the beach. We have a travel cot (but please bring your own linen for this and bedding), a high chair and a stair gate for small people – please let us know in advance if you need these. We provide a complimentary log basket for you on arrival and we have more logs and kindling available if you need it. Depending on the time of year we also usually have eggs, chutneys and jams for sale in the farmhouse.

Although we are still ‘on grid’ for our electricity supply we have our own 90ft deep borehole for water, naturally filtered through the rock and clay it produces perfectly pure water. We also heat our farmhouse, the barn and the hot water for both using a ground source heat pump that uses the renewable warmth from the ground 100m (300ft) below us – we literally heat our house with the warmth of the earth.

If you would like to take the stress out of Christmas and come away from the hustle and bustle of the towns why not book one of our Christmas breaks? We can provide a homegrown turkey and all the trimmings, a basket of logs for the wood burner, a locally sourced Christmas tree and decorations on your arrival….all you need to bring is the presents and your chosen tipple!

Accesso per gli ospiti
The whole of the barn conversion is yours to use and you have your own front door to access it. You have a private garden to use, we just ask that children are supervised. You can take a wonder down the track to the paddock and see the ponies and the sheep (the ponies will always be grateful of a carrot or apple!).

Altre cose da tenere a mente
Please note there are STEEP stairs to the bedrooms! Not suitable for the infirm.

This is a working smallholding...although we are away from the hustle and bustle of the towns there will still be all of the farmyard noises you can think of! Cockerels crow, sheep baa, dogs bark and children run free!

We are family friendly – you can come and help collect the eggs, feed the animals and experience farm life. Depending on the time of year you may find there are lambs to bottle feed, or ponies to brush or maybe watch us sheering the sheep or have a hold of newly hatched chicks. There is plenty to do nearby…treat yourself to lunch and walk around the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron, go on a speedboat ride to see the dolphins and explore the coastal caves near New Quay, go for a pony trek from a local horseriding center or watch the Red Kites at one of the many Red Kite feeding centers. Ceredigion has fantastic off road cycle and running trails and 65 miles of the stunning Ceredigion Coastal Path to explore. If you would rather take it easy and relax why not a sample some local cheeses in Abersytwyth or Llandeilo or enjoy a tour of one of the local distilleries. We have a lovely pub/bistro within walking distance (about half a mile away) which is open thursday-saturday evenings and open for Sunday lunch all year round. There is also another pub which is open for the summer season most evenings for pub grub and drinks. Both are family friendly and have stunning views!
