Beautifully decorated, French elegant and quiet ground level one bedroom flat in the 6th Arrondissement known as Rive Gauche. Private and secure with a beautiful garden and terrace. Easy walk to Le Bon Marche, des Invalides, and Eiffel Tower. Kitchen, washer and dryer.
This sophisticated and well appointed flat is our home and shangri la when we are in Paris. It has a tranquility to it that is just...well...special. Wake up in the double bed looking out through a glass door onto the terrace and landscaped garden. The kitchen windows look out onto a landscaped interior courtyard. For extra guests, the living room has a couch that folds out into a double bed. There is also a futon. The kitchen has absolutely everything needed to prepare meals:
- Four burner range
-Coffee maker and Espresso machine
-Scads of cookware and utensils
There is a dining room table for four; candelabras, fine china, silverware, glasses for wine and champagne, and crystal water glasses for those who want an elegant meal. There is also a small table in the kitchen for dining that seats three persons.
The 65 square meter flat has a well lit and heated all marble bathroom with a full tub/shower with excellent water pressure. The flooring throughout the flat is marble tile.
I (Maria) enjoy collecting art, china, silver, and antiques and over the course of many years, I have personally found and purchased the many original French silver servings, art pieces and antiques that spoke to me and that the flat is decorated with.
Come back to this flat, soak in the full size bathtub and recharge after the sensory saturation that Paris provides and dine on a table in the garden or on the stone terrace and have a drink and enjoy the flowers, yard, plants, peace and quiet.
We can arrange for our apartment manager and personal driver Jose', to meet you at the airport at Charles de Gaulle or Orly airport or any of the train stations and deliver you to the flat for 80 Euros (from CDG). It´s about a 45 minute drive from CDG. Jose' may also be available to drive you around Paris if you desire your own driver. You can work out any other driving arrangements directly with Jose'.
Interazione con gli ospiti
If checking in before 9 pm, Jose' will meet guests with keys and instructions. He speaks French and Spanish. His English is limited however. If Jose' isn't able to meet you, the keys will be in a hidden location in the interior courtyard that is accessed by coming through two doors that you will have the security codes to. My husband Garth or I will interact with you by phone, email or text. We are happy to answer all your questions and share with you our favorite "Parisian" (locals/non tourist and reasonably priced) restaurants in the area and help acquaint you with our favorite shops and things to do in Paris.
Altre cose da evidenziare
We have several favorite restaurants that we frequent:
Take a left out of the apartment building and then left at the first street, Rue Mayet. It's a few buildings down on your left. Small, classic French restaurant with some tables on the sidewalk. The owner, Thierry is an interesting and friendly character and his wife is a wonderful cook.
La Petit Lutetia. 107 Rue de Sevres.
Take a right out of the apartment and go a couple blocks. It's on the right. An outstanding dining experience.
Josephine "Chez Dumonet". 117 Rue du Cherche-Midi, 75006 Paris
Take a left out of the apartment building and then left at the first street. Go to the end of this block. The restaurant is across the street. On this street, Rue du Cherche-Midi there are a number of good and reasonably priced restaurants that cater to locals.
And my all time favorite, due to great food (thin crust wood fire cooked pizza.....big yum) and a very colorful and entertaining waiter that puts on an extravagant and entertaining show is Restaurante Cesar, 50 Avenue des Gobelins
It's about a 20 minute walk from the apartment into Saint Germaine des Pres.
Take a picnic and mandatory bottle of wine or champagne to the grounds of the Rodin museum and the green space leading into Les Invalides. Both easy walks. Peaceful and beautiful. Or to the River Seine. So quintissential French to do this.
Please treat our home away from home with the same care you would want people to treat your home.
