Ideally located in the fashionable district of "la Liberation", 10 minutes by tram from the "Prom" (Promenade des Anglais) and only two stations of the Avenue Jean Medecin and of the beaches, the framed attic offers a panoramic view of the hills nearby and the sea in the distance.
At 2 minutes walk from the main line of Tramway and 10 minutes from the Central train Station (Cannes, Antibes, Monaco), no need to take a car to explore the city and discover the other pearls of the Riviera.
On the 6th floor (with lift) of a building heyday, this enchanting place, successfully in abrief space, to harmonize all the comfort and the necessary equipment for a perfect weekend.
Firstly, Gwen and her Husband are a wonderful and charming couple who went out of their way to make us feel welcome in Nice. We really felt welcomed here and both took a lot of time to show us maps of the city and where to find the nice markets / shops and attractions. We were even invited for a glass of wine in their home (they live two floors below) which again made the overall experience feel very personal and pleasant.
Regarding the accommodation, this small studio apartment in a converted loft space is very charming and clean. It is located about a fifteen minute walk from the centre of the Old Town and is in a suburban quarter. It is close to two tram stations so access to the city is easy.
This place is quite small, so if you are intending to stay a long time then you need to get used to ducking down underneath the sloping roof and after a few days it can feel a bit cramped. Also, if you wish to cook then it has quite limited utilities (the kitchen is more of a 'kitchenette' with just two hobs and no oven) The bathroom is also small however all is very clean and well maintained.
Overall this was a pleasant experience for us. The only thing again is if you intend to stay for a long time and eat in you may find it limiting.
We had a lovely stay in Nice at Gwen's apartment. The apartment is away from the hustle and bustle of Nice (a good night's sleep) but with a very handy tram stop close by. The bed was extremely comfortable and Gwen was very accommodating with our check-out time due to our late flight home. Thanks Gwen!
Great as always. This is our second time staying at Gwen's. The apartment is in a great location for exploring Nice and the rest of the south of France. The place is clean and Gwen is great at staying in touch with her tenants to ensure a perfect stay.
I really enjoyed my stay at Gwen's apartment. Even though I never met Gwen in person, the check-in and check-out were very well organised with lovely people, who made me feel very welcome indeed. The apartment is cosy and everything is as described in the short intro provided by Gwen on the Airbnb website. Gwen also left some welcome muffins and milk, water and orange juice in the fridge, which was very much appreciated. The location is great - a bit removed from the buzzing centre, but very safe and within a short walking distance to the beach and the centre (20min), with tram stop and rentable bikes nearby. I had a fantastic 2 weeks in Nice and would recommend Gwen's apartment without any hesitation.
