Our 125-year-old home is on a quiet, tree-lined street in Philadelphia's eclectic and charming University City neighborhood. On the first floor are the living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen. On the second floor are two bedrooms, each with queen-size beds, and a study/child's room that we can outfit with single and/or queen airbeds for additional guests.
Guests have exclusive use of the first and second floors of the house. The third floor of the house is a self-contained apartment, with its own living/dining room, bedroom, kitchen and bath. The third floor tenant shares only the main entrance and stairway with our guests.
The house has a sunny front porch complete with porch swing (great for morning coffee and people watching). The shady 2nd floor porch in the back of the house is furnished with table and chairs for working, dining or sharing food and drink with friends or family. Each room on the second floor has an air conditioner.
There is ample parking on the street, usually right in front of the house. There is a two-hour limit on parking on the street from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm. We have day passes on hand that can be purchased for $7.00 per day. There is no restriction on parking on the street at the end of the block.
Wifi is of course available throughout the house.
As noted above, guests have exclusive use of the first and second floors of the house. The third floor of the house is a self-contained apartment, with its own living/dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and bath. The third floor tenant shares only the main entrance and stairway with our guests.

One of us will be there upon your arrival to introduce you to the house and its amenities. We will be available by phone during your stay, and will be accessible if needed should a problem arise. Our second home is only three miles away.
The house is not ideal for children under the age of six. No pets and no smoking, please. Guests are invited to relax and enjoy the house fully, but please be mindful of noise late at night, as there is a tenant on the third floor.
Although we now also spend time in a condo in the center of town, my husband Don and I love our house in University City and the wonderful, funky neighborhood we have called home for over 35 years. We think our house is a little was love at first sight for us, and all our guests over the years have felt the magic as well. The house somehow welcomes you, invites you to be relaxed and at home from the moment you walk through the door. We would like to take the credit, but it's not us. It's the magic.
Don and I also love being Philadelphians. In addition to its historical sites, our city has great architecture and public spaces, fabulous museums, interesting and varied neighborhoods, lots of street life and culture, amazing parks and bike trails, and a huge variety of affordable restaurants.
