Waves Rooms are 2 separate studios situated right on the beachfront of the beautiful Kalamaki Beach in South Crete. Each studio has a double bed, , kitchenette, bathroom and a balcony looking over the beach. The 2nd studio has and extra single bed ans can sleep 3. The studio's are clean & comfortable and are accessed by an external staircase behind the downstairs cafe/bar. The beach is only 30 metres away.

Jastins Cafe downstairs serves breakfasts, snacks & drinks all day and you can use the beach beds & umbrellas for free.
There are many tavernas, bars, cafes & tourist shops on the beachfront. In Kalamaki square there is also a bakery, supermarket, bank cash machine, Cretan products & souveniers shops, local craft shops & car rental offices.
There is a public swimming pool in the village which has a small entrance fee.

Kalamaki is a small relaxed seaside resort on the largest beach of the Messara bay. It is 67 kilometres from Heraklion. The sunsets over the Paximadia island are breathtaking. The beachfront lined with cafes, bars, restaurants and hotels is free from traffic during the summer months.
Around the Kalamaki area you can visit:
- A horsefarm & ride the horses
- Many traditional villages (Kamilari, Sivas, Pitsidia, Vori)
- Nearby beach resorts (Kommo, matala, Kokkinos Pyrgos)
- Take a boat trip from Agia Galini (30 minutes drive)
- The historical minoan Faistos palace (15 minutes drive)
- Local farmers markets in Moires & Tymbaki
- Zaros lake (45 minutes drive)
- Local wineries
- Mountain & countryside walks & trails
- During summer months you may be lucky enough to see the carretta-carretta turtles laying their eggs on the beach, and later the hatchlings making their way to the sea!
