This apartment was our first airbnb experience and it was just amazing. The apartment is located in the upper west side area with great connections to subway and grocery stores. Central Park and the Empire State Building can be seen from the apartment. If you are not used to living in a city the place could feel noisy (traffic, A/C) but that's New York City.
We stayed there in a very hot September week but thanks to the A/C the apartment was nice and cool.
Johno, Adrian and Juno (the adorable French bulldog) made the perfect hosts - absolutely helpful and with great advice on NYC. They made us feel at home and part of the family! Thanks guys for that unforgettable New York experience! We would definitely come back.
Great place to stay, very handy to subway and within walking distance of Natural History Museum, the Met, and of course, Central Park (which have a birds-eye view of from the apartment!). I would recommend starting the day off with breakfast in the apartment (buy your supplies from Wholefoods across the road), and then take a 10 min walk down to Joe Coffee to get a decent espresso coffee. Johno is a gracious and helpful host, and a great guy to have a yarn with over a beer or a glass of wine (he's been everywhere, man!).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------We had concerns because we had never previously booked a private accommodation by air.bnb. But it could not have come better. Johno is a wonderful, helpful host. We felt very comfortable and we will definitely come back again.
My stay at Johno's place could not have been better. I grew up in NYC, so I know the city fairly well, and I think the location was ideal. Just a few blocks from the 1,2,3 subway on Broadway and the A,C,E on Central Park West, it was really easy to get wherever I needed to go all over Manhattan. The apartment itself is clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, with floor to ceiling windows, modern furnishings, tasteful artwork, ample closet space in the private bedroom, and a private bathroom just a few steps down the hall. I had a view of the Empire State Building from my bedroom - so cool! The building is serviced by a doorman and the apartment by an elevator, so it was super convenient to get in and out. Oh, and the shower pressure is sufficient and the wifi speed very good - two pet peeves that I know can matter a lot to people! Johno and Adrian keep the apartment in excellent shape, with fresh clean towels in the well-stocked bathroom (and I think they even emptied out the bathroom waste bin a few times during my stay - so thoughtful!). They were also exceedingly gracious hosts, offering me dinner on multiple nights (if only I hadn't eaten out with friends and family, because it always smelled delicious!) and fresh coffee in the morning. There really weren't any problems to speak of during my stay. A minor minor inconvenience when I didn't know how to turn the heat up in my room, but they helped me immediately, so it's really not even worth mentioning. Honestly, this place was near perfect and I'd eagerly stay again!
We enjoyed the time and the beeing together very much! The apartment is clean, comfortable and it felt like a second home. We would be glad to see you again - maybe in California next time ;-)!
The apartment is a dream and the views are unbelievable even on a cloudy day. The bedroom is lovely with ample closet space, a generous television screen and a very cozy mattress. I slept well each of the 3 nights I was there.
Very conveniently located near the 96th Street crosstown bus, subway a short walk, lots of cabs, there's also a Whole Foods across the street, a drug store and a few shops for anything you might need last minute. I always forget something!
I checked in on my birthday and was so pleased that I chose this spot instead of a hotel. Johno is a lovely host who made me feel comfortable right away and gave me space to come and go. I loved his pup as well, a quiet little guy that enjoys a good rub.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Great location, great apartment, great company, great advice , you couldn't ask for anything more. This was ideal. Beautiful place and beautiful people. Thanks for having us and making us feel part of the family. Would recommend to everyone . Jon and Janine
We had the best time in New York and stayed in the most beautiful apartment. Johno and Adrian are excellent hosts, we found them really easy to get along with, they made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed talking to them, hearing about good places to see and fun things to do and we enjoyed using their kitchen to whip up some lovely meals. The apartment is in a fabulous location within walking distace to two subway lines and oppostite Whole Foods, as food junkies, we were in heaven. We felt very welcomed and right at home and loved having thier cute dog Juno snuffling around the place. The apartment is spotless, quiet and sooooo comfortable. Johno is very easy to communicate with and we had no problems arraging our stay. Had a great time and would jump at the opportunity to stay with Adrian, Johno and Juno again, made our New York stay very memorable.
We enjoyed Johno's apartment and the neighborhood so much that we wanted to consider finding something similar with our move to the area. Johno was very hospitable and provided us with tonnes of suggestions for restaurants and places to visit... Highly recommended!
