Harbourside accommodation with stunning views and a comfy, relaxing feeling; Plantation House is a beautifully appointed original 1920's Californian bungalow. It has superb water views from the Raglan bar to the inner harbour including the Te Akau hills and beyond. The wrap around veranda's provide ideal evening settings for G & T's whilst watching spectacular sunsets.
The house is set in a mix of palms and pohutukawas,a kin to a Rousseau garden; giving a "Sommerset Maughan" feeling. Decorated in Plantation style, it has wooden blinds, cane furniture, polished floor and boards, comfy linen sofa's, day beds and soft lamp lighting.
In the winter months, or on a cold night; there is a cosy wood burning fire and large collection of books and magazines and a small collection of DVDs and access to Sky TV & wireless Internet.
Ideal for family, couples, honeymooners and weekend retreats. Beautiful swimming bays & the renowned Raglan Village with its quaint shops, cafes & entertainment are just a stroll away. Also in the very local area, there is a very good little fish and chip shop that offers fresh fish captured each day.
The house has spectacular views and sundrenched decks surrounding the entire house; seating also. A short stroll to the historic wharf, boat ramp and swimming bays. Also within 8 minutes walk to Raglan village and a short drive to the sandy beaches and world famous surf breaks at Manu Bay, Indicators and Ruapuke. Enjoy kayaking, horse trekking, tennis, kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing (lessons available), harbour cruises, golf, bush walks,(walk local Mount Karioi)
Nearby we also own a small establishment called Adventure Waikato. It is within 50 mins drive and we would be happy to accomodate groups / companies. We offer abseiling, caving, flying fox over the valley (zip line), claybird shooting, jurassic stroll, swamp crossings & dog trials all on a working farm.
Finally, locally you would be able to view arts and crafts at local studios (Tony Sly pottery), indulge in body therapies and head back to Plantation House to catch the sunset from the deck or relax in front of the fire.
P.S - if you wish to bring your animals, please enquire first.
