Dear Josephine, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, however I am very disappointed that you did not discuss any of these issues with me or with our staff (who repeatedly asked you if everything was ok), as we could have helped you! For instance, the staff could have explained to you how to operate the dehumidifier (which was in your room and which we purchased specifically to deal with issues of humidity) so that you would not have experienced these issues, or we could have offered you an alternative room. As to the food: Most guests love our free breakfast, which is cooked to order and similar to the types of breakfast offered all over Bali in many hotels of our size (in fact, we offer a couple more choices!). If you felt a pancake, a fruit juice or fruit platter and coffee or tea were not sufficient, then you could perhaps have opted for toast with eggs or our delicious fried rice dish. The Internet wasn’t up to scratch during your visit and I apologise for this inconvenience, even though this can happen from time to time in any location in Bali. As our staff explained, there was an issue on the part of the provider and the provider was working to get it fixed; the next day, the Internet was fully restored. As to the villa itself: Most people very much enjoy our half-open bathrooms – it is a typical Balinese feature which most of our guests love. Perhaps it takes a bit of getting used to, just like the fact that we use natural ventilation stones in our buildings and that our buildings are not hermetically sealed. Most guests really enjoy this, as it promotes a feeling of being close to nature and keeps the villas nice and cool. Our beds all have mosquito nets around them and there are other ways in which you can prevent insects from entering your room. As to the noise: Most of our guests LOVE the fact that there are no ‘industrial’ (cars, loud music, machines) noises to be heard at the resort. What you can hear are the sounds of nature and (a couple of minutes per day) a Balinese temple – I am sorry if you don’t like that. This is part of rural Balinese culture and for the vast majority of guests adds to their experience of the location. In short: I am sorry that your visit this time did not meet your expectation, but I think your review and one-star rating is harsh and does not do justice to our place and the customer service we’ve provided, on site and in our online communications. Your appreciation of the magnificent views of the rice fields and our friendly staff alone does not justify a one-star review. I am sorry if you had unrealistic expectations of what inland Bali is all about.
