Descrizione

Bright, private aprtmnt on quiet residential street. Convenient via car & public transit to Center City & all museums and historic sites, Convention Center, Penn, Drexel, Phila University, U of the Arts, Temple. Relax after sightseeing all day.

The space is on the third floor of our home. It is quiet and airy. The apartment has a washer/drier, TV with cable and premium channels. We provide linens, towels, shampoo and conditioner. The apartment is filled with light and surrounded by trees. You walk through our home to get to the space, but once upstairs, you can close the door and have all the privacy you wish. The house has high ceilings, wood floors and spacious rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, pots and pans, a coffee maker, tea kettle and we will provide coffee, tea, cereal, fruit and bagels. There are comfortable arm chairs for reading. The bedroom has a Queen bed and we also have an Queen Aero bed that could accommodate additional guests. There is a private bathroom with shower and tub. Street parking is available. We do have a cat on the first two floors of our house but he is not allowed on the third floor at all. We have had guests who are allergic to cats and they have not experienced any problems.

Guests can come and go as they please. We provide a key to the front door. We like to welcome people and be available to answer any questions, but if you know your plans and are all set, we will leave you your privacy.

The front porch is available to people. It has comfortable chairs and a ceiling fan. Guests can smoke there or just have a glass of wine and enjoy our flower garden out front.

We are can be as involved as you like, providing information about the city, places to visit, etc. However, if you wish total privacy, this is fine and we will welcome you and let you go on your way. The entire 3rd floor is your space during your stay. We give guests a key so they can come and go as they wish.

Germantown is a historic neighborhood filled with old houses and gardens. It is almost entirely residential. The neighborhood is historically diverse both by race and economic status. It was the site of early abolition efforts by Quakers and has retained a progressive history ever since. It is close to Center City and has good public transportation to town (Regional Rail from Amtrak and Center City). In addition, the neighborhoods of Manayunk, Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy are easily accessible by car or public transit. All of these areas have restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, etc. There is a large urban forest (Wissahickon Park) 10 minutes away with paths for running, hiking or walking. Once in the park, you will have no idea you are in a major city.

We are a short drive from Center City and all the major museums and historical sites (10 minutes with little traffic, 15+ with lots of traffic). The major universities in Philadelphia are also easily accessible including Penn, Temple, Drexel, University of the Arts, Philadelphia University, and Arcadia). An Uber ride will cost between $7 and $15 to bring you downtown.

The regional transit authority (SEPTA) runs a commuter train to and from the Airport into Center City Philadelphia. This train stops at the Amtrak Station (30th Street Station), as well as two stops in Center City. At 30th, you can transfer to the Chestnut Hill West train to Queen Lane stop which is a ten minute walk from our house. If you call and let us know, we are happy to pick you up at Queen Lane, especially if you have bags. Center City is very walk-able and easily navigated without a car.

My husband Mas and I have a long history of entertaining travelers and visitors. We enjoy meeting people from around the country and world and providing hospitality. We love Philadelphia and are happy to share its riches with others.

Jean's place is warm and inviting. We enjoyed the space to much we decided to stay in rather than explore the city. It felt like we were at home except a way cleaner most comfortable version. I highly recommend this space for anyone who values, great communication, warm lighting, cozy beds, fully equipped kitchens, and meeting inspiring beautiful people!! Thanks again Jean!

Jean and Mas were both welcoming and gracious hosts. I felt a sense of home every time I walked through the door. The location of their house provided me with everything I needed including a full kitchen (fully stocked!) parking, and peace and quiet after working long days. I absolutely loved my stay there and would return next time I am in Philadelphia.

We were so pleased with our stay! The apartment was spacious and well stocked with the comforts of home. We liked the location, removed from the business of the city, but close to SEPTA regional rail, a 20 minute ride to Philly's Center City. While the physical space and location were great, what really made our stay great was Jean & Mas' warmth and hospitality.

AMAZING! On paper (and possibly in reality) we we're nightmare customers: just stepped off of a plane from Japan, 2 children in tow and 15 suitcases. Jean and her husband were just wonderful. So helpful. Great apartment, very light, beautiful home, easy to locate and just brilliant owners. If you need to stay in Philly, I recommend you stay here.

Jon, it was fun having you. I am so glad we were here to soften the blow of your transition, at least a bit.

I have just recently retired after a long and wonderful career as a community organizer, RN, health care administrator, public servant, foundation program officer and director of two non profits. My husband and I have raised our two children here in Philadelphia and both of them live nearby. We are new grandparents. In retirement, I have gotten certified as a yoga instructor and am interested in making yoga accessible to non-traditional audiences. We both read a great deal, love the movies, hike in a beautiful wild park near our house. Our house is simple and comfortable. You will walk through our house to get to the third floor space where you will be staying. Once the door closes, it is all yours. We are happy to share ideas about what to do and see in Philadelphia and to help make your stay a rich and enjoying one in any way we can.
