Please take a moment to read below - I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for! I've been an airbnb host for over 3 years and have more than 250 positive reviews. Please fell free to email me with any question; I have several rooms and can accommodate many different situations (party size, duration, price). I am confident I can help you find a great place to rest your head while here in Chicago.
Location and Transportation:
From my apartment you can easily walk or catch a bus or an elevated train to destinations like UIC, University Village, McCormick Center, the Medical District, and Downtown Chicago. The Pink Line is a short walk from my building and the 18th Street bus stops just down the block. Our public transportation system is called: CTA If you are driving, free street parking is generally available on Carpenter Street, 17th Street, and 16th Street. I also offer a private parking space behind my building for $20 a day.
The Artist Loft Mezzanine Suite: Single occupancy only
The room is located on the second floor of the apartment. It is a cozy loft space with a half-wall overlooking the dining room. Decorative windows provide enough coverage to maintain privacy. (If you are a very light sleeper, this might not be the right room for you.) The loft has a comfortable queen size bed, a plush love seat, a handcrafted maple coffee table, and a mid-century lamp. There is also a full-length mirror, a floor fan, and an armoire for hanging your garments. The shared bathroom has excellent water pressure and the apartment is equipped with central heating and air conditioning. As a rule I prefer a two night reservation on the weekend.
My apartment offers the perfect home base whether you are doing an internship, apartment hunting, consulting a few times a month, doing a medical rotation, or just in need of a lovely place for a personal retreat. I can accommodate stay durations of varying lengths. I have had guests who stayed for a few days, a few weeks, or for more than a month. I have two private bedrooms and one semiprivate loft space available for rent. The full bathroom and dining area are shared and guests may use the microwave and the refrigerator in the kitchen. My apartment has central heat and AC, ceiling fans, wireless Internet, and a lending library. There is a coin operated laundry room in the building. I also provide an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothpaste, and body lotion.
Weekly housekeeping is included and I only use 100% cotton sheets and towels.
My flat is located near the Pink Line in the center of the Pilsen artist district. The neighborhood has a vibrant Hispanic community and is full of galleries, artist studios, and unique murals. Within walking distance of my apartment are great restaurants, grocery stores, taquerías, bars, thrift stores, and vintage fashion shops. The National Museum of Mexican Art and the Chicago Arts District are also close by. An open studio and gallery walk event takes place on the second Friday of each month and draws hundreds of people to the neighborhood to check out the art and nightlife. Pilsen is a pedestrian and bicycle friendly neighborhood. I find it to be very safe, but of course we are in a city and it is always good to be mindful of your surroundings when walking alone.
Nicole was a great host. Her loft space was very comfortable, clean and spacious. I would definitely stay here again!
Nicole's house is very nice, the room clean and tidy, like the rest of the house, she is kind and always willing to help in the house you can find all the information for visiting Chicago. The neighborhood is cool and safe. Highly recommended!
Nicole was a great host, even though we didn't get to see each other. Despite that, everything went smoothly and there was no hassle at all. The room itself was exactly as advertised. Super super comfortable bed. Charming neighborhood, with easy access to bus and the CTA. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm up in Chicago.
Nicole was a very nice host and she was accessible whenever I needed. I liked the place very much and it is situated in a fantastic neighborhood! Thanks Nicole!
Nice and clean place, it feels like home. Nicole is very nice and super quick to answer any question/request.
Not too far from the CBD but you still need a good half an hour to go there.
Good deal money/value !
Absolutely fantastic experience. Nicole went out of her way to make my stay beyond splendid. From transportation to restaurant recommendations to every amenity I could possibly need, I was fully taken care of. I will book a property with Nicole when I return to Chicago. Thanks again for everything!!!
Nicole and Mike have a lovely spot, it was very clean, superbly affordable, and they were helpful in providing great tips around the city. If you're looking for a spot to stay in Chicago, this is a great option.
Nicole was so very kind and helpful and the place was exactly as advertised, actually she gave me an upgrade from the loft room to one of her other rooms, which was so very nice of her. She took the time to talk to me about the neighborhood and the parking situation (which is a little tricky). She even showed me an app for my phone that shows you where to find parking. I would definitely recommend staying at one of Nicole's place's. You will definitely be in good hands.
Nicole's Loft is like staying in an art gallery with beautiful artworks around the walls making for a relaxing stay. The loft is self contained and has excellent wifi. Her place is within easy walking distance to public transport. She was great in keeping in contact with me prior to my arrival even if there was some confusion about my arrival day however it all worked out in the end. I would highly recommend the loft as a place to stay in Chicago. Thanks Nicole if you ever get to Australia then look me up.
A Very Warm Welcoming Place! I stayed there for a Columbus day weekend. It's a very clean and beatifully decorated house. There is a lots of restaurant nearby and I enjoyed Mexican food. I can't forget to mention the owner Nicole. She is very kind and always willing to help. If I have a chance to visit Chicago next time, I will definitely stay there again! I highly recomond this place!
