A quiet one bedroom suite with living room and porch overlooking the Catskills on the third floor, with breakfast goodies provided. Private bath. Close to Main Street restaurants in historic district. Guide books to area and loads of charm.
Our top floor guest rooms consist of a living area with futon bed/couch, antique table and chairs, rocker, refrigerator and toaster, electric kettle and French Press coffee maker... plus a covered porch facing the Catskill Mountains and their sunsets (where smoking is allowed). There's a separate bedroom with queen bed, closets, bathroom with shower, hall and library of guidebooks, novels, poetry and DVDs/PS2 for families and cineastes. We provide breakfast materials and guide pages for our region (husband's a local journalist; wife runs local arts organizations). Wifi, television, DVD player, great art, off street parking... two blocks from Hudson River, two blocks from Main Street with old-fashioned movie house & restaurants, three blocks from Thomas Cole House. Near Amtrak (in Hudson) and Trailways stop (Catskill); cabs available. Perfect for families wanting a family home (we travel a lot, too...)
Half of third floor, shared with Fawn's artist studio and Paul's study.

I am an editor of local newspapers, a writer, and father of a seven year old second grade boy. My wife, Fawn, is an artist and arts administrator who also teaches at SVA in New York. We have a second floor renter who teaches communications at a nearby college. We are very connected with our community but also travel a great deal... taking a U.S. and overseas trip each year. We cook a great deal, host dinners and guests, and try and enjoy our lives to the fullest while continuing to educate ourselves (as all late parents of adopted children should).
