-BUSY -- listed as the Tenderloin/ Little Saigon/ Civic Center neighborhood has a long history with a dense and diverse population, and if you are not crazy about noise and activity this might not be the place for you. Be prepared to walk a bit (taxis are easy to get a couple blocks up), but it's in the flat lands and most needs are within 4 blocks.
** I feel the need to clarify the neighborhood because even though I think my description is quite accurate, some of my reviews state they felt surprised and transparency is very important :). By noise and densely populated, I mean that there is a large cross section of people from SF, which includes people without homes and yes, some drug dealers. Safety has NEVER been an issue (also stated in the reviews) however, it can feel overwhelming if you have limited prior exposure. It is not a neighborhood with sidewalk cafes and coffee shops -- but it is extremely close to those that are. Feel free to be in touch with more questions on the tenderloin, as it is a neighborhood rich with history and very close to my heart.
Very nice, secure garage 1 block away for $7/day.
You will NOT beat that price downtown. Everything else is metered.

We had a nice stay overall. The neighborhood is rough, so earplugs are definitely recommended. Taxi/bus to return at night is necessary (the Metro's line 31 drops off right across the street). As for proximity to things to do, the location is great (right in the middle of the city).
As for the apartment itself, my biggest complaint was shower water pressure, but it was definitely usable. The apartment could have been cleaner, but I'm a bit OCD, so take that with a grain of salt. There isn't much else to say, because SF is an exciting city, don't spend all your time in the apartment; get out and explore!
Morgan was a good host; we arranged the key pickup from her other property, and were good to go from there.
We have an Amazing stay at this place!
The walking distance from BARTS and MUNI stations is the best.
Very central and near to union square and some amazing and different kind cafes experiences. Brenda's French is perfect for brunch (Coffee with Chicory is the tip for coffee lovers), you can smell the guys roasting coffee at Sight Glass (email hidden) and get the best espresso of San Francisco on Machine Coffee and (email hidden) in your path to union square.
The apartment is clean and spacious.
The bed is a little soft for me. The bathroom has all i needed to take a good shower and start the day while the night noise is getting down. I slept very well without ears plug.
Make sure you have read all Morgan's advises about 'Street Smarts' while you are in the neighborhood.
After that just imagine you are in Pirate bay with a lots of Jack Sparrow, Barbosa and the Black Pearl crew. Seriously, they are just in their own way to get the things done - 24 hours per week!
Smile and enjoy the experience!
Great stay and as described. Clean, central and noisy outside. I slept well (with earplugs).
Yet another amazing experience traveling on Airbnb. Morgan was the perfect host; super friendly, communicative, and flexible with my travel needs! The apartment is a clean, super well kept & spacious studio in the heart of the Tenderloin. Morgan's attention to detail is second to none(additional props on the ultra comfy bath towels) & her welcome guide allows even a first time visitor to feel at home in the neighborhood. And while some may have mixed feelings on the area itself, I personally love it for its character, personality, and convenience to everything in SF. I highly recommend to anyone visiting this lovely & amazing city!
Right in the center of all the action. For San Francisco die hards we are completely at ease watching the live opera known as the Tenderloin from the perch in this well planned apartment.
Jump out on the street and head for Little Saigon, Nob Hill or Civic Center.
Everything was efficient and ready to roll for your city adventure. If you're an urban cat or want to feel like one, this is the place.
Morgan was a great host and communicated with us for everything we needed. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable.
Nice apartment, though it wasn't as clean as we expected - quite dusty. Location is as bad as you can probably get in San Fran with drug deals under the window and some nights noisy cars and people all through the night. Ear plugs are definitely needed. Only 3-4 blocks away, the neighbourhood is completely different. Also, if you are driving, I would not recommend staying here. We had our car broken into and window smashed on the first night from a 'secure' underground car park.
Morgan's apartment was great - it was clean, stocked with necessities, in a central location and secure.
Morgan was quick to respond to any questions and left maps & tips for newcomers to San Franciso which was greatly appreciated!
The apartment is situated in a central area however it is in the Tenderloin district so just a word of warning to anyone travelling alone that the homeless can be quite prevalent at times, and whilst they aren't violent, can be confronting.
Otherwise, enjoy your stay at this apartment in San Fran! Any great coffee lovers should check out Sight Glass for a great cup!
Appartement fidèle aux photos, localisation centrale mais mal fréquenté dans l'environnement immédiat. Pas très propre à notre arrivée.
Morgan was a great host and gave her best interest to making our stay the best possible. We appreciated her openness and readiness to help.
The restaurant recommendations she left were just amazing. We loved Farmer Brown and Brenda's. And Ryoko was indeed great sushi.
The area is indeed special, but there seems to be a lot of police all the time and we had no unpleasant events. And hey, in the end, it's part of the experience to also see this aspect of the city.
