The flat is clean, and well equiped; very charming with wood and fireplace; enough for 5, we were 2 adults and 3 teenagers and we were all feeling cosy. The real plus at William's place is that everybody has a comfortable bed and believe me, this is greatly appreciated after long day walking in NY City ! We could even sleep 6.
Although uptown, this is well connected with the lines 2 and (email hidden)(email hidden) walk from the apartment, with supermarket on the way, opened until mid-night ... Another plus ! Buses also are not far at all.
The area is quiet and the houses of the street have this sort of nice-old-age-good looking ... Which we appreciated as well as trees and plants. Another plus !
This is a place to be recommended, if you do not care to be uptown, if you want some quietness in the evening, do not hesitate! William is living downstairs, so if you need something, he's here. He is a cool mane, was here at our 2 arrivals to welcome us (we arrived at different time) and same when we left, easy with the timing, the luggage, calling the taxis for us ...ect. He is a good host, he even took the time to bring us to a Godspel on Sunday morning. But he is discreet as well, and you are completely independent during your stay.
William has been very wellcome and attentive (he even prepared a surprise for my parents'birthday which we really appreciated).
The appartment is large, clear, clean with a nice fitted kitchen. The area is safe and quiet. It is 3 blocks from the nearest metro station and +/- 20 mn to lower manhattan.
I strongly recommand William.
We had a fabulous stay in NYC! William's apartment was the perfect home away from home. He provided everything we needed. The apartment has washer, dryer, air conditioning, dishwasher , wifi and comfortable beds! William provides plenty of towels and linens for one's stay. The apartment is comfortable and spacious. There was only three of us during our 10 day stay (originally there was to be 5) but even with more inhabitants, I believe the space would have been comfortable.
There was a fully stocked kitchen. We didn't cook much but there was everything one would need to cook a home cooked meal. William provided plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, garbage bags, coffee filters! He also provided nice body wash, body milk and body lotion. In fact, I enjoyed them so much, I plan on buying some for myself!
The location is perfect, the subway is three blocks walking distance and the bus stops are even closer. There are lots of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, drug store and liquor store all within a few blocks.
The street parking is fairly easy once one figures out the routine for street cleaning. The neighborhood is eclectic with lots of friendly people. We often had the windows open at night and street noise was minimal (save for one night when there was an argument between two people, but the argument lasted only a few minutes, then it was quiet once again.)
I would not hesitate in recommending William's apartment. I look forward to staying there again.
We had a great week at William's: very cosy and convenient, only 15mns from Times Square.
William is a very nice and helpful person, we wish we had had more time to get to know him.
A place to book without any hesitation.
Our party consisted of four adults and three teenage kids (two families). We were comfortable taking turns using the single bathroom, and the extra sink in the dressing area made it easy to accommodate us all. Having stayed in midtown Manhattan in the past, we were pleasantly surprised at the lack of street noise at night. The weather was pleasant and we were able to sleep with the windows open. We truly enjoyed staying in William's apartment. Highly recommended!
We, a family of 7 including 5 teenagers had a wonderful time at William's place. Prior to arriving, the communication went smooth and also when we arrived, William was there to guide us around. The apartment was very clean and tidy and we feld right at home. There were plenty supplies. william introduced us to his favorite restaurant, around the corner, Caffe Latte where we enjoyed the food and the ambience. He also introduced us to his neightbor Dennis who owns a burger & milkshake restaurant at the corner of Lenox and 124 called "The Harlem Shake". Worthwhile a visit. We also had dinner at the more upscale restaurant Settepani which was very nice. The apartment is located just 3 blocks /3 minutes from the 116th metro station. Lines 1,2&3 connect there.
We enjoyed meeting William through AirBnB and will use the site again and we will recommend Williams place to all our friends

William is great! Very friendly and gave some great recommendations of spots to check out while in the city. The apartment is beautiful and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is also great. The people around there are all so nice! Overall great stay and I would definitely go back!
Amazing! This sums up the experience at William's place! There were 8 ladies in our group and plenty of room for all of us. Our host, William, is simply remarkable; he is quick to respond, available whenever needed, very resourceful and just a delightful person to be around.
William's place is perfectly located in a lovely trendy neighborhood; as other guests have pointed out previously, he is close to the subway, restaurants, a little (amazing) breakfast café around the corner & Central Park is only a few blocks away.
The place is very clean, William has thought of everything in terms of what you may need during your trip, love the decoration, the beds & linens are beyond comfortable and everything else is impeccable!
In short, William and his place are highly recommended and I will be staying there again the next time I visit New York City.
We stayed there from may 1st to may 10th 2013 and we think that William is a fabulous host! He provided with all the commodities (including baby crib, baby bath, towels, everything!), he was attentive (even getting up a two am to receive the luggage the airline had lost! That way we didn't even have to wake up :D So nice after a long flight!) The apartment is great: really big and clean (extra clean) and everything works perfectly. The neighbourhood is the best: it is calm on the street but with everything within easy access. Great bakeries, cafe's and supermarkets just a few minutes away, the subway is really close too! I would definitely recommend this place: it was our first Airbnb experience and I think now hotels will be a last resource.
I am really sorry that the agency Jennifer is employed by lost their money due to the party encountering a "medical emergency" and that she incorrectly directed my silence. Unfortunately, for me there was no need to continue communication after I declined a rescheduling, when I have a strict cancelling policy. From a business prospective, to reschedule Jennifer's party would have meant me taking a financial loss on her original dates. Regardless of the reason, my strict cancelling policy stands.
