Enjoy our comfy home and its knockout location & lake views from 2 sides.
The cottage itself is vey comfortable and recently renovated. We've also cleared out spaces in each of the rooms so our guests will have ample places to store their items. Our well-stocked kitchen's cabinets are new and help make that small space be quite efficient with its pull-out drawers, floor to ceiling cabinets & granite or butcher block countertops and a new microwave and dishwasher. It's a great place for those who want to be home for meals. The bedrooms are small but each has closet and drawer space reserved just for our guests.
Our cul de sac community has it's own water system that is carefully monitored & has passed all inspections. The water is great tasting & we have it professionally managed as well as tested monthly. It's never failed a quality test in the 30+ years we've owned it. I do suggest that you use our Britta filter sinc(URL HIDDEN)our system isn't as thorough as the bigger water companies though. Although we have neighbors on each side, we do have quite a bit of privacy due to our trees and angled house placement. If you hug trees like I do, you'll be a happy camper here even though all the cedar needles like to ride on your shoes. Our lot is really quite unique with it being approx. 75 ft at the top of the drive yet over 130 ft. of lakeshore since we're on a "point". Top this off with great trees, some over 100 yrs old) for privacy, it's really one-of-a-kind location.
We've cleared the largest closed in the main bedroom for our guests as well as the top 3 drawers of the dresser plus a hanging closet unit that can hold foldables. For those also using the 2nd bedroom, the dresser has been completely cleared for guests use and only a few awkward items still remain in its closet. The lakeside coat closet has ample room for additional coats plus guests are welcome to use our rain gear and large-ish warm jackets that have been left. All food products left besides the B&B items ~ i.e. spices, coffee, tea, flours, soups, etc. are also available for our guests use. A new key pad lock is now on our back (fence side) door. It really makes the coming-n-goings so easy! (Should have installed one years ago)

Usually I (Pat) or either my husband, Norman, or our when-needed helper (Jessica) will try to meet you when you arrive. We will also have your private key pad code programed in for you. For the most part, we'd like you to have your privacy. Do feel free to email or call us if you have any questions or concerns. We don't have a smart phone so communication while staying means a quick phone call or email. We have a storage shed that usually remains locked.
Altre cose da evidenziare
We are on a septic system that works beautifully. It's that long area on your left as you wind down our driveway. No cars or wheeled vehicles are allowed on this area. We are in the midst of changing the area to a low-upkeep one that will be easier for our aging bodies to maintain! To that end, we've hired a local landscape architect who has mapped out suggestions that we'll begin planning sometime this next spring.
Because we're septic sensitive, we have suppled only single ply TP and ask that guests to be sure not to flush any questionable items. We had our system pumped and cleaned in Oct. 2016.
Adult guests are allowed to use our clunky dingy-style row boat or old canoe provided (1) you can swim & (2) you wear life jackets. Oars, small electric motor & its battery charger & oars are in the shed at our driveway's bend. There are also outdoor games in the shed. Please return all outside items to their proper place when not in use & never leave the boat's battery outside when not in use.
1) children must be 6 years old or older to be allowed..
2) Guest are not allowed to park or drive on our drain field or lawn areas.
3) We'll have a BOOK OF THE HOUSE at the cottage that will give you more information re: the house, area maps, locations of popular places to visit, etc. Please leave it in the den.
4) We live here during the summers & have some personal items stored within the cottage. However, we've removed most of our things & there will be ample storage, closets for guests and no common spaces except for the coat closet. Guests are welcomed to use the rain gear, warm jackets, hats etc. that are in that closet.
6) Guests should NOT move furniture (except chairs where needed).
7) In addition to our no smoking of any sort on our property policy, we also do not allow vaping or drugs.
