We spent 10 days in Rotem's apartment while visiting our daughter and her family, who live nearby. The location was excellent, close to our daughter and to parks and major bus routes. The apartment is quiet and simply but pleasantly appointed, with a balcony for fresh air and sunshine. Rotem thoughtfully welcomed us with useful visitor tips and a plate of cookies and made sure we had everything we needed. Staying there gave us an interesting direct experience of living in a residential area of Jerusalem.
Rotem and Amir were great hosts, we felt very welcomed. Rotem wrote me very detailed emails on how to arrive at the apartment, and also a long list of restaurant recommendations with public transportation tips. The Kubbeh soup in "From Gaza to Berlin" was great. The apartment is in a great neighbourhood, quite close to major sites both in the old and the new city, with restaurants and grocery stores closeby. The house was very cozy. There were both an air conditioner and a strong heater in the living room, also a heater in the bedroom, so even when it was raining cats and dogs in Jerusalem when we arrived, it was still very warm (and quiet btw) inside the house. Great kitchen, has everything one needs for cooking.
Rotem's place was perfect! It is a great location, a lovely and cozy space. We especially enjoyed the nearby park and there are many cute coffee shops and small markets in the area. Rotem was very helpful. She gave us spot on recommendations and we had a better stay because of our time there!
Rotem was an excellent host for our stay in Jerusalem!!! She met us at the apartment, and gave us much information via email regarding the neighborhood, restaurants, cafe's and sights to see. The apartment was roomy and spacious as pictured on the website. We enjoyed the neighborhood immensely, and would highly recommend this area...Great local cafe's and friendly people all around..I highly recommend Rehavia and would love to stay there again in the future...All the best to Rotem and Amir for making their home available to us..and yes, the Kubbeh soup across the street at Gaza to Berlin restaurant was delicious!
Before moving to Tel Aviv, we lived in Jerusalem for several years. So it's with confidence that we write that Amir and Rotem's apartment is the epitome of a Jerusalem apartment, and in the best possible way. Their presence is warmly felt in every tasteful touch and the apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood. If you want to experience Jerusalem through local eyes, theirs is a very good choice.
