We are a married couple in our mid 30's who have a large sunny private bedroom available in our duplex apt. The bedroom is the sunniest in the house and is equipped with a comfortable futon bed, desk, and closet space. You would have your own full bathroom, and shared kitchen, washer/ dryer, wifi, cable t.v., only 20 min. to lower Manhattan. We also live with a dog and cat who adore each other, so animal friendly people only. The space comfortably fits one additional guest, so single people only. Great for someone visiting NY who wants a more personal view of life in Brooklyn!

I've spent two months in this place, and it was definitely an amazing time! Christine and Luz were very friendly and welcoming. The room was really beautiful and sunny as the whole house and the garden, where we had very good moments together and with friends. It was also pretty close to Manhattan with the express train, and the neighborhood was very calm and safe. As many before me, I recommend this place without any doubt. Such a perfect experience. Thank you guys for this stay. I hope I'll see you really soon!!
When I came to NY one month ago, I expected to have a tough time, working a lot and being a stranger in that endless, overwhelming metropole...but the opposite was true, thanks to Christine and Luz. They offered me not only a comfortable room, a fantastic kitchen, my own bathroom, a beautiful garden etc. but primarily a place, where I felt immediately at home.
Although I had busy weeks, from time to time we could sit together in the garden, drank water, beer or wine and had animated discussions about art, politics, life...I was always thankful for their angelic patience, when I was - again and again - trying to fumble for the right words. They introduce me to their friends, invited me to join BBQs, and if it would have been possible I had spend more time with them!
If you are not convinced by all this, maybe you should know that Christine and Luz are the happy owners of the most lovely pets, called Lola & Boxer. I have never seen a dog-cat combination before that worked out so well. Both are friendly to everyone, and charming...too charming so that it was hard to say goodbye...
It was my first trip to NY and also my first experience with Airbnb, but I became immediately a big fan. I can recommend Christine and Luz's place to everyone, but especially to those, who are not only interested in a bed but also in finding inspiring, relaxed hosts and a lively and lovely neighborhood.
Thanks for all Christine and Luz, hope to stay in your house as soon as possible again! ;)
Wonderful hosts, spacious and beautiful apartment, and a gorgeous garden to boot. Lola and Boxer are the most adorable dog-cat pair. Adding to this are gems like ScratchBread and Alice's Arbor in the neighborhood. Perfect for short and long stays.
I really enjoyed my stay here; the room was clean, spacious, bright and warm (during a February winter storm), Luz and Christine were welcoming and accommodating hosts, and the whole apartment just has a nice atmosphere to it (added to by a friendly dog and cat). The garden must be awesome during warmer times of the year. The location might not be your first choice for a quick tourist visit to NYC, but I liked it, and Manhattan is just a short ride away from the nearby subway station anyway. A good choice!
I stayed at Christine’s and Luz's house for four months, which were among the most beautiful of my life. And I can certainly say that this was also thanks to Luz and Christine, to their welcomeness and openness, their warmth interest (transformed gradually into a friendship) and their balanced and discreet living-together. The cozy atmosphere that they created in the house, the fascinating discussions we had and their two totally loveable animals, were for me a constant source of inspiration and comfort. Practically speaking, the house is a beautiful Bed-Sty original brownstone, amazingly decorated with pieces of art made by the owners and their friends and family, and with books and music discs filling the shelves all around the place. The garden adds to the whole idyllic atmosphere. My room was vary spacious and shiny, the warmest of the house in the winter and cool and airy in the summer. The neighborhood is really safe and friendly and the house is located very close to both the A/C and G subway lines. Grocery, gym, cafes, restaurants, are all within walking distance. This is in one of the coolest areas of New York! Original Brooklyn experience, plus being into the heart of Manhattan in just 20 minutes (I even went there by bike sometimes)! I consider myself really lucky for having met these amazing people and stayed in their beautiful house. I wish I was still there…
Couldn't have asked for better roommates or room. The place is always kept feeling very much like a home and they've taken all the steps to make it very easy to move into. I would love to stay there again if I were back in New York.
Christine and luz (and Lola their super dog !) were a perfect, super friendly host. we shared some diner in and out of the house and it was so nice. They have good advices for restaurants in Nyc…Trust me.
I stay more than 1 month with them and it was great. Their house has a perfect situation very close to the subway. I feel like in my home, free to cook in the kitchen as i want ( by the way their kitchen is super!). The room is very clean with a nice light. I will return there with a great pleasure. Their dog Lola is so nice, i never seen a dog like that, super friendly and lovely. I recommend them , you can close your eyes ! Thanks guys for your time with me, The BBQ time in the back yard missing me so much !
Christine and Luz are exceptional hosts. They're both very laid back, hospitable, and accommodating. I stayed with them for a month, and felt really comfortable the whole time. The room is extremely spacious and clean, with great lighting. I was given use of a large private bathroom during my stay, which was outfitted with complimentary toilet paper, hand soap, and towels. Another plus about this place is that it's a 5 minute walk to the A/C trains (a 15 minute ride into Manhattan), and just a 10 minute walk to the G. If you value comfort, stay at Luz and Christine's! (One small disclaimer: You will probably fall in love with their dog and cat, and may feel really sad leaving like I did!)
