West Coast Modern Laneway House Loft:
We call it "the Fonzie" because it's a loft over our garage.
Our 650sq foot loft is an open concept space with a private entrance. The loft occupies the complete second floor of our laneway house. The ground floor is used as a studio and office for Peter, owner, also designer and craftsman.
The suite has one main queen bed and a second double bed that pulls out of the sofa. It is ideal for a couple, and many families with children or 3-4 adults have enjoyed the space. Our guests appreciate our central location as a great spot from which to explore the city, and comment on the calm and quiet space they can return to for rest. Our guests with children and/or dogs love the park and playground 100m from our house and there is free parking along our street.
We are within walking distance of all you need and a diverse array of boutiques, food shops, award winning restaurants, parks, cafes, a liquor store and library. For those without a vehicle we are within blocks of three major transit lines.

Guests have the entrance, staircase and second floor of the building to themselves. Our family lives in the main house on the property. Peter has his work space for his design and furniture studio on the ground floor. He is there often during daytime working hours. This has not been an issue for our guests due to the thick concrete floors and intermittent nature of his work.

We moved into this central Vancouver location 2005. We were the first residential applicant of Vancouver's ecodensity initiative in our area that allowed laneway houses to be built on a regular sized city lot. We built our laneway house by late 2009 and since then have seen our neighborhood blossom with countless young families. We feel right at home with the large old oak trees, field, playground and tarmack 100m down the road, and friends walking by throughout the day. We value community, can't live without the outdoors and being active, film, music, friends, making things and solving problems.
We welcome people travelling to Vancouver whether it be to explore the city, relocate, visit family or enjoy the wondrous outdoors our city is centred in. It is a highlight for us to meet people adventuring from all across the world, who find a home in our space for their time in our beautiful city.
Craftsman/designer, Public Health nurse and educator by trade, we find our two young boys keep us busy and engaged. We believe in the principle of kaizen, slow and constant change toward improvement. We find joy in beautiful, simple and sustainable and our space reflects that.
