Newly renovated, spacious 2 bedroom apartment with exquisite living room and private bathroom. Master bedroom features a California king size bed and a built-in closet. Smaller bedroom has an ultra-comfortable full size bed. Living room features custom-made furniture by a celebrated Afro-soul designer, as well as a vibrant and unique collection of contemporary art. In the heart of Bed-Stuy, cradle of jazz and hip-hop and close to all other areas of Brooklyn.
Inviting guests on a voyage within its walls, the Afro-Soul arts lounge is a zingy statement of cosmopolitanism nestled on the second floor of a nineteenth-century Brooklyn brownstone.
In the spirit of all things Brooklyn, this metropolitan hideaway tastefully amalgamates Victorian interior, custom-built furniture by one of the celebrated kings of Afro-soul design, and a unique and piquant collection of contemporary artworks into an energetic, sophisticated, and welcoming environment.
Self-contained and intended for guests’ exclusive use, the apartment is comprised of two bedrooms, a sitting/dining room, a bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen.
The spacious master bedroom blends coziness with aesthetic appeal: a king size bed with color-popping pillows exquisitely complemented by a sumptuous carved wooden footrest, a new and contemporary wardrobe storage. Overlooking the ground-floor patio’s quiet atmosphere, the room opens into an ivory bathroom with a 6ft long vintage claw foot tub and a fresh tile pattern.
Bathed in soft light and in an even smoother mood, the second bedroom offers a full-size bed and a vertical storage cabinet.
The sitting/dining room is a delightful experience on either side of its large, sun-filled windows. Inside, an ample lounge designed into a jazzy, modernistic tribute to Africa, with bohemian chic accents. Outside, the full view of a Brooklyn neighborhood’s sparkling soul. The flamboyant urbane décor of the sitting room mixes playful textured and wax prints cushions with a set of handmade patchwork armchair and poufs, matches the vivid splashes of barbershop signs with the simple lines of a monochrome sofa and the earthy-toned bricks of the open plan kitchen.
The kitchen provides a functional cooking area with appliances (oven, microwave, fridge freezer). All living spaces boast beautiful wood flooring and high ceilings. The apartment accommodates up to 4 people.
Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and television with digital cable services.
The Afro-soul arts lounge owes its name not only to its artsy personality - the floor below the apartment hosts the (non-residential) studio space of an internationally renowned visual artist. During working days/hours (Monday to Friday, 9 to 5), you may catch the gentle sounds of creativity at work – or not...we hope to welcome you soon on our uncharted island in the concrete jungle!
