This is the original bunkhouse that the cowboys lived in. It's about 50 feet from the Main House. There are three separate rooms in the Bunkhouse that have a door between each room. One full bathroom serves all three rooms. There are a total of five single beds in the Bunkhouse. Even though there are privacy doors, there isn't much privacy. This is ideal for families with kids or really good friends for whom privacy is not important.

Cell phone reception is excellent. Wireless Internet is available in the Main House and can usually be picked up in the Bunkhouse.

You have full access to the historic living room, dining room, and sitting areas of the Main House just a few steps away. Of course, you can also explore our horse stables and 2800 acres of land.

We're always here to greet you when you arrive. It's a big ranch and if you don't see us after you've settled in and have a question, just give us a call. Cell phone service is extremely reliable.

Even though the Historic Hat Ranch is secluded at the base of Bill Williams Mountain in the Kaibab National Forest, we still have a lot of neighbors: elk, deer, antelope, 100's of different kinds of birds (including wild turkeys), squirrels, rabbits, coyotes, and many more.

We have it both ways: we're out in the forest, and only 20 minutes from downtown Williams. Six miles west of Williams, on I-40, is Devil Dog Road (Exit 157). It's three miles of dirt road from that exit to the Historic Hat Ranch.

If you've had enough of driving, we can arrange guided tours to Grand Canyon from your room to the edge of the South Rim. We can also arrange helicopter tours and rides on the Grand Canyon Railway. Don't forget, another way to "get around" on the Historic Hat Ranch is on horseback!

Horseback riding is available usually from mid April to mid October Our rides take place on our own beautiful mountain trails. Horseback rides are $45 an hour.

Please note: All water is hauled to the ranch. We ask that you make every effort to conserve water during your stay.

A beautiful, quiet ranch with plenty of room for the kids to run around. It's definitely a no frills old bunkhouse, painted wood walls and floors, old bathroom, all single but comfortable beds with rooms open to one another and no locks on doors. Great for me and my 3 kids (9-14yrs). The one evening we were back early, the kids got to help feed and pet the horses. Breakfast was great and really enjoyed the view, horses, dogs, elk, bunnies, and the starry night sky that I never get to see at home. Sharon is a good cook and wonderful host.

The Hat Ranch was SUCH a wonderful place to stay! John and Sharon are so lovely, we didn't want to leave! The accommodations are clean and beautiful, and the ranch itself is breathtaking and has a fascinating, rich history. We will definitely be back!

Sharon treated us like family. The Ranch is beautiful, not far from town, but wonderfully secluded. Everything was clean and comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer!

We have a great stay at the ranch. Sharon is a kind host and very friendly. The bunkhouse was set in a beautiful ranch and has all necessary amenities. It has little privacy so I would recommend only for close friends and family.

We were very well welcome even if we came late. The house was cold at night. The offered breakfast was gorgeous. We saw dear when we lived the place.

We had a great time and loved staying in the bunk house. We heard from another guest they weren't satisfied, but here's my opinion on that: Don't book a stay at a ranch, and then complain that it's a ranch. This is a real ranch with a fascinating history. It is not a fancy hotel with decor to make you 'feel' like you're at a ranch. We arrived at sunset, just in time to see the horses and elk through the low-lying snow-fog. Beautiful. We ate some snacks we had brought, and well after sunset went out to enjoy the stars, which were simply breath-taking. First time we had seen the milky-way in far too long. It's about 1.5 hours south of the Grand Canyon, so well-suited for a day trip there. We will certainly stay there again if we visit the Grand Canyon. Sharon is a gem! Many thanks!

Risposta di John:
David and Colleen were great. I enjoyed their sons as well. Experiencing folks at breakfast is such a treat for me. Their stories of prior travel and seeing them awed by the remoteness of our ranch. and to top it all off,,,they stripped the beds, neatly!! Thank you to them for saving me some work.
