I stayed at the Thornsberry house for four night, and it was an absolute delight. I immediately felt like I was on vacation the second I walked into the house. The main house and studio are bright, meticulously cleaned, comfortable and very spacious. The design of the house and the decor inspires an immediate feeling of relaxation. The house offered all of the amenities I could ever need and more--a fully stocked, clean kitchen, washer/dryer, huge tub and walk in shower in the main house and an AMAZING outdoor shower in the studio, a huge wooden deck, several outdoor seating options, a clean and welcoming pool, bicycles, etc. The house was an easy walk into town, and is also walking/biking distance to wineries. I spent hours looking at Erik's photographs, collection of amazing design books and personal and interesting touches (such as old typewriters and cameras) throughout the house and studio. On top of all that, Erik was such a warm host (I bumped into him in the coffee shop he recommended) and he provided us with tons of recommendations for things to do in the area. It was seamless communicating with Eric and his neighbor checked in on us upon check in to make sure we were settled. All in all, Thornsberry house is a true find, and I intend to go back over and over again (as much as I possible can). It's the ultimate wine country retreat. I almost wish I did less wine tasting and more hanging out at the house and enjoying its amenities!
