This is the strangest airbnb experience ever and the most difficult and unpleasant situation for me..have actually no idea what to write in the review as there were so many strange details topped by a very arrogant behaviour of the host, that we are still perplexed. I have no idea what actually went wrong but we cannot relate to any of those many positive reviews of our predecessors. I can just say we were ready to tolerate many "not so friendly details" of the way the flat was prepared for us, as we love the location and what we missed we simply bought in Ikea (kitchen: sieve, peeler, grater, cloths; bedroom: sheets+ duvet+pillows for the third bed; toilet:kid´s toilet seat, pot..more clothes hangers etc.The kitchenware we even left there to Anabela, as we really consider it absolutely essential (how can you prepare cuscus or pasta w/o sieve?etc.) and we also broke one of her glasses and one lid of a kettle, so also as a compensation of this damage. Actually we were ready to leave all of it there, but than we dared to claim the same defect of a shower hose /once replaced by Julia) for the second time..and the reaction we received was overwhelming..and the letter in French we have just received (although Anabela claims she speaks English) is totally beyond our understanding. Nevertheless, I am sure there will be many more happy guests and I truly regret, there was no possibility to meet Anabela in person, to deal only with her lovely old Mum was not fair..not only because she could not communicate a thing in English, but because she is an older lady and I cannot imagine criticising anything she did as we believe that to maintain such a flat cannot be a job for a senior, so we highly admire her effort, regardless of the result. This is simply a very unpleasant experience which needs longer to be absorbed but it cannot spoil our longlife love for Portugal and our fond memories we have from this month by the ocean.
