ONE NIGHT MINIMUM STAY
The modern and self-contained “Lakehouse” is located at the rear of our property, overlooking mature fruit trees and Australian natives with a dam/pond attracting varied birdlife. Lovely view to the mountains. A water course and nature strip run along the property boundary which lead to large parks and nature reserves and is a pleasant 3km walk to Palm Waters Shopping Centre for a Zarraffa’s coffee fix. Close to everything the Gold Coast and Hinterland has to offer, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. Five minutes from the beaches, restaurants and shopping centres.

The “Lakehouse” has a separate queen-size bedroom with built-in wardrobes and ceiling fan, bright bathroom with modern shower and a combined lounge, dining and kitchenette. Small reverse cycle in-wall air-conditioner in combined living area. A 40” television for viewing free-to-air channels. There is a DVD player and selection of movies for viewing. I have a HDMI cable attached so you can plug in your own device and view on the bigger screen. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and electric frypan/skillet with the necessary utensils & cookware to be self-sufficient during your stay.

Enjoy our COMPLIMENTARY CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST supplies which are provided for each guest (a selection of cereal, bread, fruit, milk, juice, condiments) plus tea and coffee facilities per day of stay.

Two pre-loved bicycles, helmets and bike locks are available for your use to explore the local area. Let me know if you wish to avail of these, so we can check tyre pressure and have then readily accessible for you.

The self-contained guesthouse and undercover carpark is at the back of our property, down a long shared concrete driveway. You will enjoy exclusive access to the guesthouse. It has key-lock sliding door and security screen. Please pull into driveway and I will greet you on arrival.

CHECK-IN is from 3pm (earlier arrival may be available - please message)
CHECK-OUT is 11am.

It would be helpful if you could please call or text when you are about 30 minutes away from arriving.

We can accommodate last minute bookings arriving prior to 8pm.

There are neighbouring acreage properties either side and the main house overlooks the guesthouse, but you have your own privacy.

My husband and I live in the main residence. I will greet guests and show them to the guesthouse where you will be staying.
We are very conscious of giving you your privacy.
We need to mow our lawns, water plants and do gardening, so you will see us around - especially on weekends.
I am onsite the majority of time and can assist you with any queries or information during your stay. Please feel free to message me via Air BNB platform or come knock on our door - we would be pleased to see you.

Complimentary continental breakfast provisions will be provided for each guest. (Cereal, bread, fruit, juice, milk & condiments). Tea and coffee facilities.

For guests staying 5 days or longer: I will kindly require access to the guesthouse to change over bath towels and refresh supplies as required.
Bed linen will be changed for guests staying longer than 7 days by negotiation :)

We have the best of both worlds – peaceful acreage living with nature and wildlife but only a short distance from the beaches and the exciting pace of all the Gold Coast has to offer.
We live in a peaceful estate with acreage properties. Our land is bordered by a waterway that is popular for walking and fishing and leads to large parks and nature reserves. There is plenty of wildlife including birds (ducks, spoonbills, lorikeets, kites, cockatoos, kookaburras and a resident brush turkey or three). There are a few koalas in the estate as we live in a recognised Koala Corridor. We have one particular gum tree that the koalas go to on a regular basis – so if you hear a low grunting noise (male) or a high pitched squeal (female) – that’s them! There is also a possum family living in the nearby shed who may go wandering at night looking for food.
We have easy access to/from the M1 and Gold Coast Highway.

We live on an acreage estate 3 kms from the Gold Coast Highway, so your own vehicle is PREFERABLE.
Coolangatta Airport has all major car rental companies.
Taxis and other share ride facilities are only a phone call away.

There is local bus service within a 5 minute walk / 600mt that will take you to the local Pines Shopping Centre. This is an interchange stop for public transport to Burleigh Heads, Robina, Broadbeach/Surfers Paradise and south to Coolangatta and Tweed Heads.
Palm Beach has a main bus stop on the highway that is more user friendly.

There are connecting services to travel to the theme parks at Coomera (Dreamworld, Wet’n’Wild & Movie World) but the ride is quite lengthy.

Train station is at Varsity Lakes (with bus connections). The train travels between Varsity Lakes Station and Brisbane with Air-Train services to the Brisbane Domestic & International Airports.

A rechargable GoCard is best for using public transport and can be purchased online in advance or at designated 7 / 11 convenience stores. Our nearest store is at Palm Beach.

Please refer to TRANSLINK website to download their app for schedules, zoning and pricing and cards.

Local shopping centres (Palm Waters & The Pines) are within 3 kms for a complete range of specialty stores, supermarkets and fast food outlets. There is a service station within 500mt for basic supplies.

If mutually convenient, I can drop off at the Coolangatta airport for a $25 fee. (Taxi one-way will cost approx. $35-$40 regardless of what their website estimating tool claims).

WI-FI: Available, however due to the distance the guesthouse is from the main residence, WiFi may not be reliable for streaming inside the guesthouse, but you are welcome to try - it seems to depend on the brand of your device. You may need to stand outside the entrance door to initially hookup to the WiFi. Reception outside the guesthouse is readily available. Otherwise, come and sit in the garden near the house and login to check your emails or research what to do on the Gold Coast and in the Hinterland.
Reception in the Lakehouse is perfect if you have your own device's data plan/dongle.

SMOKING: We are avid non-smokers, but are willing to accommodate smoking guests, BUT SMOKING ONLY OUTSIDE AND AWAY FROM THE GUESTHOUSE ENTRANCE, with used butts/matches being placed in smoker’s receptacle provided please. This is to protect our wildlife and our home. The hard wired SMOKE ALARMS WILL GO OFF if you attempt to smoke inside.

CLEANING: I have chosen not to charge an additional cleaning fee. We are sharing a part of our home so we trust you will be courteous and leave the guesthouse in a clean and tidy condition, including bagging all waste/rubbish and washing used crockery and cutlery and kitchen items.

PETS: We have an elderly male Labrador and I day-sit my daughter’s kelpie/cross dog who sometimes thinks she is guarding the White House! They are in enclosed areas and do not access the guesthouse or its surrounds unless accompanied by us for exercise. Please be aware that she is only doing her job and will let me know if there is someone on our property ....... She also loves to play stick, frizzbie, ball, leaf, grape, chewed pot plant or whatever else she can find to play catch! So, if you need a doggy fix just let me know!

NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN: Please note that due to nature water courses around the estate and a small irrigation dam on the property close to the guesthouse, children 0-12yrs are not able to be catered for.

LAUNDRY: Not available at this stage, but stay tuned.
(For guests staying 5 nights or more, I am willing to allow use of my personal laundry. Please contact me to arrange a convenient time).

***For safety reasons, no candles or incense burners are allowed inside the guesthouse***

* Our SMOKING POLICY is strictly outdoors & away from the guesthouse entrance door.

* As we are in a quiet cul-de-sac estate, please be respectful of our environment and neighbours and keep noise and your behaviour to a comfortable level - with no noise after 10pm.

* We would be grateful if you could please turn off the air-conditioner, overhead fan, heater, internal lights etc when going out of the guesthouse.

Kaylene is truly a Super Host - she goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. The lake house is perfect for couples visiting the area. It was in a good location - a short drive away from restaurants, beaches and the Currumbin wildlife sanctuary. Kaylene was easily contactable throughout our whole airbnb process. Kaylene and her husband are very lovely people - they were very welcoming and friendly (they also gave us tips on where we might spot koalas on their property). We were pleasantly surprised when we got to the lake house. The whole house was very clean & comfortable, the fridge and pantry were well-stocked with breakfast food & snacks and the toilet has everything you could possibly need (toothbrushes, shaving cream, shower caps, soaps, band aids, hair dryer, heater etc.). It saved us from having to go out to purchase supplies. And I 100% agree with the other reviews about the amazing shower! We had trouble getting wifi in the lake house but Kaylene offered to fix this problem with an extender. It wasn't much of a problem because we were able to get a 4G signal - we ended up using data on our phones. Hands down, the best airbnb we've stayed in & we can't wait to come back. Highly recommend the lake house if you're looking for a place to stay!

The Lakehouse is in a beautiful little spot near the south end of the Gold Coast, easily accessible from the M1. It is very private and we loved the big windows, new construction, and how very nicely and thoughtfully it was decorated. The fridge and pantry were nicely stocked with starter breakfast items as well as coffee, tea and bottled water. Shampoo and soap were also included as well as many other little extras. Bicycles and helmets were also available and we used them to bike in the park their property adjoins. The only downside was the WiFi. Our devices wouldn't stay connected while in the house. Despite that this home is a wonderful spot and Kaylene an excellent host and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Thankyou for your lovely feedback Gail. I am sorry about the wi-fi - as explained it is a bit hit and miss due to the distance from the main house and also depending on your device. I do have a range extender available, but once again, because of the distance, it is not 100% reliable. I will make a note to mention it in the future. Mostly people have had success.....maybe a good excuse to go "off grid" for a day or two!

I could not have asked for better hosts or a better stay. The place was immaculate, everything felt so clean and fresh and little touches like the snacks, breakfast and tea were lovely. There is even a beautiful view out to the lake where you can enjoy the sunset from the dining table. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again or recommending it to others. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely loved our stay at Kaylenes place. The villa is very modern, trendy and comfortable with all the comforts of home. It was very clean an well maintained. Also in a great location for visiting Currumbin and Tallebudgera. Would definitely recommend!
