I had a great time at Sue's and Mike's place. Sue and Mike are very nice and friendly people and they were very helpful to tell me lots of interesting and practical things about San Francisco. Their beautiful house is in a very nice area of San Francisco in a quiet side street of the exciting Mission district. When I am going to SF the next time, it would be nice to visit them again.
My boyfriend and I stayed in Sue and Mike's apartment for a week trip to San Francisco and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. From the cozy apartment to the GREAT location, we were extremely happy. Their home is very close to great bars, restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, and even transportation.
Sue and Mike are very friendly people who loved talking to us about our plans and even made recommendations for activities and restaurants. They provided us with breakfast items (eggs, bread, cereal, jam, coffee) and clean towels and sheets!
We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend them to anyone!
Thank you Sue and Mike:-)
With a gum tree at the front door and a welcoming smile, 20 Hill Street sets the scene for a happy and relaxing stay. I stayed a month helping my daughter four blocks away settle into life with a new baby. I loved my morning walks down Valencia Street, picking up a coffee at Ritual on the way. It is a great area with organic food shops, cafes, restaurants galore. Sue and Mike's basement apartment is quiet and has everything you need. Supplies in the fridge get you through those first days of jet-lag! If you feel like cooking, there's plenty of room around the kitchen table for friends. The bed is comfortable and bathroom good. Having use of the laundry was a bonus.
You enter through the historic house's front door, then open a door under the main stairs to descend to your apartment. It has a side door from the kitchen which I used for fresh air and to sit outside in the sun. The cupboard to the right of the sink can be opened to allow air circulation at night. Windows cannot be opened since they are at ground level. The neighbourhood however is safe and on my walks home, often after 10.30pm, I never felt uneasy.
Sue and Mike are interesting, friendly and energetic people. I really enjoyed their company when we had a chance to spend some time together between their demanding jobs and my grandmother duties.
When I head for San Francisco again, I would certainly stay at their place again.
Fantastic! Sue and Mike are very sweet people and great hosts. I stayed there for a month while I was in a show performing at the Curran Theater. I loved the basement apartment and the location is fantastic. Just a couple of blocks from most of the great restaurants, bars and cafes of Valencia Street, and a quick 15-minute commute via bike, BART or Uber to downtown. Everything you need is in this place, they even bought some staple foods and coffee to get me started, and it's perfect for getting creative work done as you'll be surrounded by books and inspiring art projects. Cheers!
We stayed a week at Sue en Mike’s place and they were very welcoming and helpful. We immediately felt at home and the apartment was very comfortable.
The location was absolutely perfect. Not too far from the BART-station(s) and in seconds you are on Valencia street, were you can choose from a lot of great restaurants, coffee-places and bars.
We had a fantastic time in San Francisco and we would recommend Sue and Mike’s place to everyone!
A proposito dell'host, Sue
My husband Mike and I are professionals in the SF Bay Area. He's a web-developer/foodie/musician guy, and I'm in the smart city/sustainability innovation business. We will enjoy meeting you!
