It is a clean bright space that opens onto a lush garden. Open layout kitchen with breakfast bar. A surprisingly roomy living room with bright windows. The bedroom is definitely cozy (smallish) but fits a full sized (double) bed and a dresser -- so it's big enough for comfort and privacy. Superbly pristine for your visit.

This apartment is all yours with private front entrance. The garden which is large and lush and has a great patio for lounging is a fully enclosed secluded space. It has a feeling of complete privacy, though it is also accessed by the upstairs neighbors as well (a lovely family!). Keep in mind this is not a SHARED apartment. It is a private guest one BR apartment. Clean and furnished, but empty -- empty drawers, empty closets (with hangers). You are not living in someone's lived-in home or staying as a roommate in someone's apartment. Therefore, even though I try to provide most essentials in the apartment: clean towels, clean sheets (plus xtra set), pots, pans, coffee maker, utensils, hair dryer, etc. ...and even, shampoo, dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper etc... Please do not expect everything beyond that to always be there -- for instance, there will not always be every condiment and seasoning in the kitchen that you need. If occasionally something is not there that you need or I have run out of it, as much as I try to think of everything and keep necessary items stocked, you will need to go to the store sometimes for some items that you need, but have no fear there are shops everywhere within a block -- it's truly lovely! I apologize if I don't have everything always there, and I hope you can understand this can sometimes be the case. It is not a shared or borrowed apartment and it is not a hotel either. I DO however welcome suggestions about items you think would be a good addition to the apartment, so I can improve my apartment readiness in the future. What you get with this booking is an adorable super clean apartment in a very high-end and convenient neighborhood -- and I try to do my very best with the rest of the details in the apartment. That is what I promise -- wholeheartedly!

Though in a fabulous location and charming, this is not a large apartment, so even though it can accommodate 3 people (a double bed and a futon) I recommend you check out the floorplan I have provided and the photos so you decide what works for you. Also, I do charge a fee for more than 2 guests.

PLEASE READ:
Smoking:
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING of any kind is allowed inside the building. Do not smoke in close proximity to the building -- as it may bother other neighbors who live there. Do not leave cigarette butts on the stoop or in the exterior areas around the building.

Laundry:
There is a washer and dryer for shared use in the basement. When you use the washer and dryer, please move your laundry along quickly from washer to dryer and out of the dryer as soon as the load is finished. Some laundry detergent is provided and stored in the kitchen. Do not use any supplies that are stored is in the laundry area – those belong to other residents of the building.

Garbage:
Garbage pickups are Monday and Thursday mornings. Garbage should be bagged neatly and placed at the curb after 3:00 pm on nights before pickup (Sunday and Wednesday). Garbage must be placed in a heavy-duty opaque BLACK bag and securely knotted. Some bags are provided and stored in the kitchen. Garbage and recyclables may not be stored in the common areas or hallways of the house. Do not put garbage and recyclables in the bins located in front of the building. Do not leave garbage or recyclables in the areaway of the building (the front exterior of the building).

Recycling:
Recycling pickup is every Monday morning. Recycling should be bagged neatly and placed by the curb after 3:00 pm on night before pickup (Sunday). Cans and bottles should be rinsed and placed in a CLEAR bag and securely knotted. Paper products should be torn or broken-down into small pieces and be placed in a separate CLEAR bag and securely knotted. Some bags are provided and stored in the kitchen. Do not put garbage and recyclables in the bins located in front of the building. Do not leave garbage or recyclables in the areaway of the building (the front exterior of the building).

Pets:
No pets are allowed, including but not limited to dogs, cats, birds and fish. Occasionally pets are permitted upon approval. If approved, there is a fee. It is not often pets are approved though.

THE OVEN:
It is a gas stove. The way to light it is by pushing in on the handle as you turn it so it will ignite. (This is a safety feature of modern gas stoves -- so that gas is not released other than when the stove is lit). Please call/text/email if you have any questions.

The location of this place is great! Right near the subway, and near excellent restaurant choices. It's ideal for two people - a bit of a squeeze for three, as the couch isn't that comfortable.

Wow -- 3 stars! That's a first for my lovely place. I can't help but feel that this is pay-back because I didn't allow you to check-in early. I'm very sorry about that, but as I explained, the schedule was tight and I had to allow the cleaners to thoroughly do their job in between guests. When I have room for flexibility I can do it, but I could not on that day. It is not very good Airbnb etiquette to take issue with that. As far as the futon is concerned. It is very evident in the pictures exactly what this "2nd bed" is in this apartment, and I explicitly state this accurately in my listing. In fact, in my listing, I clearly state that this place is best suited for two (but of course it is a cost saving option for some people to rent a little place like this for three adults, which some choose to do, including you). Even so, you are the only person ever who booked it for three people, who complained about the comfort of the futon. I think perhaps you didn’t carefully read the listing, was expecting a 2nd bed and were disappointed, but most people know that a futon is not exactly like a bed and only book my place if they are OK with that. My listing is very accurate in this regard, and I urge all future guests to please read carefully through my listing and ask me any questions they might have prior to booking. Also, if you do arrive at my place and anything is disappointing to you, please reach out to me during your stay so I can try to help in some way. Not saying anything during your stay and just leaving a poor review afterwards is also inappropriate Airbnb etiquette.

Very convenient : nearby metro station direct to Manhattan, groceries and restaurant at the corner, very close to Prospect park. The host was here to answer all our questions. Perfect house and emplacement for a family vacation.

Sheila's apartment is perfectly located in Brooklyn, by the Park and the Subway. Large enough for a couple to spend a vacation time in a nice area with all amenities around. With the summer coming, the quiet backyard is completely welcome ! Sheila is always available on phone or by mail to answer your questions.
