Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with tons of wonderful natural light an apartment across the street from a leafy walkway between funky Queen street and bustling Chinatown.
We ask that you please read this detailed description. We strive to make our listing as *Accurate* as possible.
We use AirBnB as travelers around the world as well.
We know how important detail is, as well as no hidden surprises.
Parking is free behind our building but it is on a 1st-come-1st served basis. I 'may' have to valet your car to another spot 10 feet away or park in front of another vehicle.
If you are worried about me moving you car 10 feet, don't. I can drive an 18 Wheeler ;-) if there are no spaces left, there is overnight parking 1 block away . The fee is reasonable and under $10.
Natural light streams through this rectangle shaped apartment condo from morning until night. We rarely turn the lights on until 9PM during Summer.
We classify the Guest Bedroom as "Cozy". It's not Tiny. It's not Large.
Great for one Person. Cozy for Two People who sleep in the same bed.
Guests get to enjoy a very quiet Bedroom and get a great night's Sleep. Plus your own *Private* Guest Bathroom is adjacent to your bedroom.
You have a full, brightly lit closet. You have shelves and drawers for staying longer. And a full "Junior" Wooden (not Ikea) Desk in your room.
There is a Full Basket of Toiletries for both Men and Women on the Top shelf of the Closet. You'll even find Sunscreen. There are also TWO Robes. Please ask for Slippers if you need.
There is also an Umbrella, ella, ella ;-) There is a Rain Jacket in your closet if needed.
The Guest Bedroom is GREAT for Sleeping. Resting. Studying. Reading. There is a corner Chair + Footrest in your room.
The Guest Bedroom has a small-ish, 3rd floor high window which faces the brick building next to it. No view to the street, so lighting is blocked. It's quiet throughout the night and the morning light will not wake you.
Please Ask Us to adjust the Blinds, Air Conditioning and/or open the Window to your liking.
There are 3 lights in the Guest Bedroom (2 Soft Lamps + Ceiling Light) + 1 light in the closet. If you're seeking natural light in the bedroom, it receives very little, especially in the winter months. And not near as much light as the East/West windows throughout the rest of the layout.
THE COMMON ROOM
There is a "Common Room" near the Kitchen with *tons* of natural light to sit, listen to your podcasts or music, read, surf the Internet on the Guest iPad, Watch TV or just watch the Rain or Sunrise. Please ask how the Apple or Internet TV Works. We'll happily show you.
Often I leave Candies, Munchies on the kitchen island near the common room for Guests to enjoy.
If you're not a Cat Lover we recommend you sit in the one Italian leather recliner chair or the other leather chair and put your feet up.
Our sofa and club chairs are vintage cloth upholstery. There will inevitably be cat hair on them as the little furry rescue dudes do love to lounge around.
We clean and Swiffer twice a day, but we both also have jobs and cannot clean every strand of cat hair off the furniture every moment of the day.
Our cats are not Sphynx Cats. So please do not mark us down by saying "cat hair everywhere" because you sat on the sofa or in a club chair and that hair fell to the floor or got on your clothing.
As for Cleanliness, I wash, bleach, disinfect, sweep, vacuum, dust, dry and wet swiffer all spaces, places and things from the previous guest. That includes, shower, toilet, door handles, linens, towels, faucets etc.
On the rare occasions my husband cleans, he may miss something. If you notice anything, missed or unusual, please alert my husband or myself to attend to it. Please don't clean, move or fix anything yourself. After all, You're on Vacation ;-)
Guests are welcome to use the Common Room with or without us being in the house at anytime.
Our private quarters are marked by a hallway screen, so we appreciate if Guests do not wander past the screen.
Here are a few rules, but nothing a 'Respectful Guest' can't adhere to:
Guests are NOT welcome to use the Kitchen unless we are in the home.
We ask that you do NOT rummage through our cupboards. Instead please ASK for what you need. Even filtered water. I have a few bottles always cold and ready.
Why no kitchen privileges you ask? Because Guests have burnt pots, caught teatowels on fire, set off fire alarms, broken dishes. This past month, a guest actually broke the stove. Yes. Broke it. Using it when we weren't present.
Its just much more pleasant a stay if none of this happens.
Guests are NOT welcome to use the Washer, Dryer or Iron unless we are present in the home.
Why no unsupervised use of washer or dryer you ask? Because a physicist who knew everything, broke our washer and cost me $1200 to buy a new one. Its just much more pleasant a stay if none of this happens.
Parking is free behind our building but it is on a 1st-come-1st served basis. I 'may' have to valet your car to another spot 10 feet away or park in front of another vehicle. If you are worried about me moving your car 10 feet, no need. I can drive an 18 Wheeler ;-) If there are no spaces left there is overnight parking 1 block away. Cost is $10 Overnight.
Interazione con gli ospiti
We always play this by ear. We leave it to our Guests to let us know how much they want to interact with Us.
We do expect common courtesies such as Please and Thank You.
Please don't bark orders to us. We are not your Servants. We are not your short order cooks.
As travelers ourselves, we don't want our Hosts in our face, nor going into our room and/or belongings. We want our privacy respected. So, we do the same for you.
If you do want to socialize - just talk to us. We have varied interests from Pop Culture to Politics and everything in between such as Film, Food, Music, Travel, Science, Medicine, Nerd and Geek Culture, Countries and Their Cultures and World Affairs to name a few topics.
The Cats have a few things to say too ;-)
Altre cose da evidenziare
Please be discreet when staying here. We don't *advertise* to other building dwellers that we are on AirBnB. We'd like to keep things that way. Nice and Private. And Discreet...
Parking is free and permitted behind our building. It's on a 1st-come-1st served basis.
We have 1-2 VERY Nosy neighbors that may or may not act up and watch your every move when parking and or entering.
Crazy neighbors must be universal... *sigh*
I 'may' have to valet your car to another spot 10 feet away or park in front of another vehicle.
If you are worried about me moving you car 10 feet (I can drive an 18 Wheeler ;-) ), there is overnight parking 1 block away if there are no spaces left.
I will reimburse your parking fee if needed.
