Descrizione

Welcome to the charming House of Paasia! Our Blue Chamber for two suites very well for couples, small families, and e.g. cycle travelers. Also possible to book a calm camping site at the garden of an old farmstead and sense the serenity of the Finnish countryside.

Welcome to the charming district of Sääksmäki, Valkeakoski in the Southern Finland! The House of Paasia is located close to several historical tourist attractions, such as Visavuori, the Voipaala Art Manor, the ancient Rapola Hill Fort, and the limpid Lake Vanaja.

Eino Jutikkala, a Sääksmäki academic, wrote this about Tarttila in his 1934 history of Sääksmäki: "The town's oldest stables is Paasia. Israel Sillantaka (Särkilahti) who, in 1579, gained it as collateral from pastor Pertti Mikonpoika from Turku who was an heir of the property. From 1593 Sillantaka's son Kristoffer had riding services at the estate of Paasia."

Subsequently sculptor Aukusti Veuro () started his artist career in this building. He studied at the nearby Visavuori as a student of Emil Wikström and married Elsa, the sister of the Finnish artist and sculptor, Wäinö Aaltonen. Events are now arranged in Aukusti's first artist studio.

A shower and a toilet by the shared kitchen of the house.

Also a cosy camping spot at the garden available.

In this house we live with a small Skye Terrier boy with a big heart.

Happy to help you on planning your stay trip! Paasian Kulta-aika (Golden Age of Paasia) is a series of courses for your health and well-being. Enjoy the peaceful rhythm of Paasia with lectures on healthy nutrition, yoga lessons, dance, art, concerts, and more. You may also inquire about naturopathic treatments to be added to your visit. Happy to meet up with new people and hear their stories. Looking forward to your visit!

I love Scandinavian folk music, yoga, wild herbs, children, and dogs (not in that order!). And can´t live without dancing!

"We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once." (Nietzsche)
