There is something for everyone all year round here at Alan’s place. Some facts to note:
-Check the tides, swell and weather here at the Magicseaweed website (Click on the “Asia” link, then “Philippines”, then “Surf Spot” – Find “Luzon” and click on “Crystal Beach”. The critical level to look out for is 0.3. Any number HIGHER than 0.3 is suitable for surfers and any number LOWER than 0.3 is suitable for a “bunker boat” trip to Capones Island or a “bunker boat” paddle around Alan’s place.
-The rainy season lasts 3 months, July, August and September (perfect for surfers) and the dry season lasts for the remaining 9 months of the year (perfect for everyone else)
-Worried about typhoons? Check out these statistics: Climate Subic Bay Weather Station (Click on the years 2012/2013/2014 and you will see that the worst weather with the highest winds recorded all occur just 1 day in the whole year and in particular only during July and August) There is a reason why the Americans built a shipyard in Subic Bay, the north-west coastline between IBA in the North and Subic in the South is the most sheltered place in the Philippines – the majority of the typhoons hit the East, North and Southern parts of the Philippines and veer off towards Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. San Narciso is equi- distant between IBA and SUBIC.
-Worried about a Tsunami? The Luzon Strait, the main deep channel connecting the South China Sea with the Pacific Ocean, lies between Taiwan and the Philippines and has a depth of about 8,500 feet (2,600 metres). The distance between San Narciso and the Vietnamese coastline is 1,369 km. A look at the Historical Tsunami Database since 2000BC confirms that there have been no Tsunamis recorded in the South China Sea due to the fact that both the sea is too shallow and the distance between land masses is too short.

Mountains behind you and the beach in front of you right on your doorstep with two big cities either side of you (Iba to the north and Subic to the south) all within an hours drive for shopping and other city related activities. Street parking available and tricycles ply between the national highway and the beach. Victory Liner buses service San Narciso along the national highway from Olongapo in the South to Iba in the North.

Quiet and peaceful place most of the time however bear in mind that Philippines culture includes music and singing to excess 24/7 whatever the weather and having fun in the sun especially when celebrating birthdays or big events. Suggested itinerary could include activities like, fishing, snorkeling, diving, island hopping, shopping, hiking, picnics, adventure parks, golf, rain forest walking and much much more. There is something for everyone to enjoy whatever your age. Details of the excursions with prices and contact details are available in the guesthouse

I love walking on the beach, snorkeling, candle lit dinners, watching sunsets and being warm. I have travelled to 80 countries around the world and I now have found my paradise. I love reading travel books, watching comedy and adventure movies, listening to popular music and eating food from around the world. Having guests gives me a chance to meet people and swap life stories and experiences in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. My life motto is: Don't only read about it but go and see it for yourself :-)
