The humble front of this house conceals a 18 room urban villa with two patios, three levels, four bathrooms, a basketball court in the back patio, a piano room and a marimba. Open the green door and come in!
This house is a 150-year-old Colonial urban villa located in the Center of Bogota, a block from the Botero Museum and Arango Library. There are seven theaters [live performers; not movies] within a few blocks of the house. The house and surrounding area has a real neighborhood feeling.
Plaza Bolivar and the Presidential Palace are close. There is an excellent Italian restaurant two doors down (I often walk over in my jammies for a quick breakfast there!). Great music and night life is also just a short walk away.
Other attractions within a 6 block radius: The Presidential Palace, Plaza Bolivar, The Justice Building, The National Library, The original Mint (Casa de la Moneda), Teatro Colón, 9 independent small Theaters, 3 art museums, the Silva Poetry House, three Italian restaurants, a French Bakery, 2 antique stores, an old book store and other small shops and cafés. Just last year, a block from the house, the fabulous Botero Art Museum opened to the public. Besides the collection of Botero's work, there are 5 original Picassos, a Dali sculpture, and a world-class collection of Impressionistic works.
