Thank you for viewing our home!

Our home is located in the heart of Shoreline in a mature, quiet neighborhood. Great for guests that would like to use public transportation as we are walking distance to major bus routes to downtown Seattle. Driveway and street parking are available for guests that have their own vehicles.

Our comfortable private room is perfect for a single traveler!

There are two homes on our property. My husband and I live in the small bungalow in the front and the second larger home (designated for guests only) is directly behind it and is totally separate from the bungalow. The larger guest house is where this room is located.

The Private Room is very quiet comfortable and features a queen size bed, clean linens and duvet, fresh towels, reading lamp, desk and chair.

The Bathroom is not attached but is next door to the bedroom. It is designated for guests only and may be shared with other house guests that might be staying in the house.

Guests have access the living room, dining area, kitchen and washer/dryer.

We have a deck just off of the living room, great for taking in the sun on warm Seattle days! Help yourself to a few pieces of fruit on our fruit trees in late summer and fall.

Washer and dryer is available for guest use, but guests need to provide their own detergent/fabric softener.

My husband and I live in the small bungalow in the front of the property and are always happy to chat if we're around. I work full time and my husband is semi-retired and is always happy to help.

The best way to contact us is through Airbnb messaging. My daughter in law, Tiffany, helps us co-host our listings and responds to all messages as quickly as possible.

PLEASE BE ADVISED that we have 2 small dogs, Charlie & Fuji, so please expect the see them every now and then.

We will respect your privacy and know you will respect ours.

Our mature neighborhood is quiet and calm. Very close to schools, coffee shops, dining, grocery stores and bus lines. Easy access to main highways and freeways by car.

If you have your own vehicle getting around is very easy. Trips to downtown Seattle are usually between 20-40 minutes depending on the time of day.

Bus stops are close by and easy to walk to.

-331 & 304 are 1-2 blocks away
-Rapid E Line about 8 min walk, takes you directly to downtown Seattle

Our home has few rooms listed on Airbnb. You will most likely see other guests. We ask all of our guests to be considerate of one another and to be respectful of their surroundings.

Helen made me very comfortable, the home is even better than the pictures on the listing! Every thing wes perfect, it's better than a hotel, the kitchen is open any time for anything I like, you can cook food and there all kinds of food available, the garden or the back yard is fantastic, she is growing apples and pears and I can pick any one I like from the tree and eat it! When I first came in my room the fresh new carpet small was awesome, I enjoyed my staying at helen's very much, I would definitely go there again if I had the opportunity in the future, thank you helen and sorry again for cheking out late because I came home late because it was raining like crazy that after noon.

I had a wonderful time during my stay with Helen. They made my experience super easy and stress free. When I arrived to her home I was greeted by her family and they were sweet and made me feel at home. Helen, Rocky, and their daughter were attentive of all my needs. They showed me where everything was located and helped to bring my belongings to my room. I got to chat with Helen, Rocky and their daughter and got to know them. They are wonderful and kind individuals. Chatting with them felt as if I was with my own family. They always offered me food

I normally enjoy my airbnb experiences, but not this time. One thing I’ve come to enjoy about airbnb is the experience of staying in someone else’s home and getting to know the place I’m visiting through their eyes. When I booked this place, it was implied I was booking a room in someone’s home. When I asked about whether breakfast was included, Helen said: “if Rocky is home he will fry eggs.” When I arrived to find no one answering the door, Helen still tried to maintain this charade saying she’d only just stepped out for a minute, and when they left they told me they were going to the gym, not leaving for the night. I soon realized the hosts didn’t live in the house I was staying in and when I asked Helen directly she said that Rocky was over “all the time, but they didn’t actually live there.” When I checked later, I saw Helen had changed the status to Host Unavailable to guests on her listing, which is a little closer to the mark. There were plenty of ESL students at the house while I was there. This is more a boardinghouse than a bnb, and if you like that sort of thing then, it might be perfect for you, but that is not what I was looking for. A few other points. As is typical in a place that is not someone’s home it is surface clean but not clean clean. At first glance everything is clean and tidy but don’t look too closely into the corners or on the tops of things. Lots of dust and a few cobwebs in the hard to reach places. The shower railing was rusty. Under the sink was a wasteland of castoffs left by previous guests. Food was left out on the counters and stove every night uncovered. The walls are thin and the students got noisy at night. For whatever reason, I wish I had earplugs. I asked for some extra supplies: an extra towel and some TP to be exact, and Helen only provided the TP. She never provided any reason why she wouldn’t give me another towel. I was staying for 4 nights and I have long heavy hair so I need two towels. I left some water bottles in the main fridge and in the morning someone had taken them. Again, no response from Helen when I let her know what happened. Worst thing: I never once found the front door locked. I locked it coming and going but never found it locked at any time. On the plus side: private bathroom, mini fridge, a desk and a kettle in your room for making tea. Bring your own tea though – they only provided me with two teabags for my 4 night stay. Also there are a lot of outlets, and free wifi. Fridge in kitchen makes cold water and ice. Debatable: Free cold cereal. Very firm mattress. No alcohol. No host on site.

I normally get very good reviews and high recommendations, but not with Anne who is very needy , inconsiderate, high expectations, and doesn't like people of color like us. Anne should have stayed in a hotel and not a home. She has high unrealistic standards. She mentioned ESL with disgust , " plenty of English as Second Language ( ESL students) , but I am ESL, myself. It is who we are. We are all ESL in that house. Nothing can changed that. Even hotels doesn't discriminate of the people they checked into the house. Those students are not boarders, but considered as family because they were with me since they were in high school and now in college pursuing their dream here in America to become Engineers and Medical professionals. They are good kids and respectful , or they won't be in my house that long. I can't tell them to move out just because Anne is coming for three days to stay in the house. I waited for Anne until 4:30 to check in , but she didn't arrive till past 6:30. Very inconsiderate of my time, as I have other things on my schedule to do. I still waited for her, but no apologies . I told her that I am leaving and going to the gym after I checked her in, and showed her bedroom, and asked her what else she needs. As soon as walked into my house , she gave me a mean look, and she's probably not expecting an ESL is the owner of the house. There is a toilet paper and towel in her bedroom from the time she checked in, but she texted me past 11:00 at night asking for another roll of toilet paper and towel. Breakfast is not included in the stay, but we want to be friendly with her to make her comfortable and specifically offered her that she has access to our kitchen to cook and access our food in the refrigerator if she wants to fry some eggs , coffee and bread for breakfast. I work full time, so I can't be around her to entertain her full time as a host neither her maid to cook her breakfast, and gave her toilet paper even in the middle night, and wait for her all day long. The house is clean and sanitized. I used to work in a hospital , and I know what clean is, but with Anne's case I am not sure what kind of clean that she wants. The most disgusting is she left a water bottle for her feet in the living room without mentioning what it is for with no label at all that my students can accidentally consume it. She mentioned about me not being in the house. I live just 5 minutes walk away from that house. I am not sure what else she wants from me that she wants me to be in that house, on site and texting me late at night. I am a little concern about my safety after that to be walking in the middle of the night for toilet paper and towels.

This was my first airbnb experience so I wasn't sure what to expect. The listing was fairly new and the host had two listings going at the same time. When I asked for the address I was given the address to the other location so there was some confusion when I arrived. However, it turned out that I stayed at the original address that was given to me due to a toilet that wasn't working. Even through the initial confusion, I was impressed by Helen's flexibility. Both she and her husband are easy going and prompt to make sure everything was going right for me. The room I stayed in was updated recently, had a nice firm bed and a private bathroom. I slept very well here as it was not noisy. Continental-type fixings are available for breakfast, i.e. coffee, tea, cereal. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and gave it four stars instead of five due to the initial confusion.

I stayed in one of the bedrooms in the freshly remodeled basement of this house where I had a comfortable and sound night’s sleep. The décor is minimal but likely to be a work in progress. The hosts, Helen and Rocky, were friendly and very considerate. They offered tea in the evening and morning and checked to make sure I had everything I needed. Rocky even dropped me off at my bus stop. Staying here was a great beginning to my week in Seattle.
