A wonderful home-base for our two weeks in Jerusalem. A charming flat in an old stone house, with high ceilings, arched windows and tile floors gave us the flavor we craved. One block off busy Emek Refaim gave us easy access to all the neighborhood shops and restaurants, a nice walk to the First Station and easy bus/taxi transportation to the center of town and the Old City. Howard was an attentive and generous host. We were pleased to spend a little time with him during our visit, and got to know each other a bit. We've made a new friend in Jerusalem. One note - even though the flat is on a lovely quiet street, it is a block off a major intersection and there can be street noise at times.
Great location. It was perfect for a short visit for us and our daughter. The apartment is charming and we especially appreciated being able to enjoy a quiet breakfast in the kitchen overlooking the lemon tree while our daughter had her privacy sleeping in the living room. Howard was wonderful to deal with.
We really enjoyed our stay at the "Kataluma". Howard was a wonderful host, quick to respond to our initial inquiry and to further questions we had; very welcoming on our arrival; most forthcoming with information about the apartment and the surrounding area; and generally very friendly, willing and on hand to help with whatever we needed, without being at all overbearing. We couldn't have wished for a better host. The apartment itself is charming, with its mosaic-style floors & arched windows that create a special, historic atmosphere. Complementing these are the up-to-date furniture, appliances & utensils that allow for a comfortable & user-friendly environment. The location was perfect for our needs, very central to all the places we wanted to visit & literally a two-minute walk to the main road that houses many lovely shops and cafes. We highly recommend staying at the Kataluma and enjoying all that it and its host have to offer.
