Couples love the Cottage! You can bring along kids too for a fun family vacation. Privately situated on 2 acres, conveniently located 10 - 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, and 5 minutes to Weaverville. Cozy, charming, quiet, the Cottage provides a fully equipped kitchen, mosaic tile bath and is far from ordinary. Clever use of recycled materials. Fully fenced pet approved backyard with outdoor dining table for 4. Sleeps up to four,: 1 queen, 1 full size futon - located in same room.
The 700 sq ft Wisteria Cottage is cozy, charming, quiet and conveniently located. It sleeps up to four in 1 queen bed and 1 full-sized futon, located in the same room. It is a great space for a couple, or a couple with younger children. As the beds are located in the same room, it is generally not a space to bring along the teenager or older children. Friends may not find the space private enough either. (Note that I also offer a 2 bedroom home vacation home on this property called the Hydrangea House, perfect for 4 person groups). Location is 10-15 minutes North of Downtown Asheville, and 5 minutes from the small quaint center of Weaverville. Easy access to all that Asheville has to offer including the Biltmore Estate, Grove Park Inn and Spa, the Blue Ridge Parkway (15 minutes to all these locations), hikes, waterfalls, mountain biking and glorious mountain vistas. For a real treat, head 25 minutes down the road to Hot Springs, North Carolina for a long and glorious soak in the fresh natural mineral hot springs located on the banks of the French Broad River.
Relax and enjoy the colorful gardens and artistic custom-made features of the Wisteria Cottage. New super comfortable Queen memory foam mattress. Fully-equipped kitchen to prepare your favorite meal. Eat out on the private patio surrounded by mosaic art designed into the base of the cottage, or choose from one of the many local restaurants only minutes from home. Use of recycled materials include reclaimed wood exterior, with strategic placement of barn wood, reclaimed wood floor in bedroom/living room, painted cement floors in kitchen and reclaimed kitchen cabinets with custom tile counter tops to tie them all together. If you enjoy eclectic old world design, you'll love the Cottage. It is not a slick modern space!
The Cottage was built by French artists over a period of time. Custom touches include a walk-in mosaic tile bath, mosaic tile kitchen counters and custom stenciled concrete floors. The cottage vaulted ceilings make the space light and bright when the velvet curtains are open, and romantic and cozy when drawn. One long-time customer refers to the cottage as 'Velvet Therapy' for all the peace and tranquility it brings to her.
The cottage is perfect for a romantic, cozy get-away for two, or for a couple with younger children looking to explore Asheville. The cottage is pet friendly, just be sure to let me know you will be bringing a pet (maximum of 2), and be sure to read and abide by some simple pet rules so that I can keep accepting guests furry friends. There is a fenced area for your pet out the back door (picket fence so beware that very small dogs may not be well-contained).
All you need to bring with you are your clothes, food and your adventurous spirit. Everything else is included!
The cottage is tucked in and quiet, with a privacy fence in front and back, a fenced backyard with table, 4 chairs and umbrella, and gardens blooming throughout the spring, summer and fall. The parking area is shared by The Hydrangea House, a 2 bedroom vacation rental you'll see when parking but is hidden from view when you are in the Cottage/out back in the fenced yard. Guests have full access to the gardens around the cottage but please stay out of the Hydrangea House's fenced yard.
Altre cose da evidenziare
Everyone is welcome at the Cottage, I am alternative lifestyle friendly. Pets are welcome too! But 2 maximum and you must agree to some simple rules. And please don't bring your pets if they are not use to traveling and being left alone in strange places. Crating your dog is not required but is encouraged while you are out. I can supply one medium sized crate if you need one. Just ask.
The Wisteria Cottage is strictly non smoking. Smoking is allowed in the fenced backyard only, and you must dispose of your cigarette butts. Do not discard in the yard!
The cottage is a peaceful retreat, suitable for a couple or small family with one or two younger children looking for a quiet place to relax after a day/evening of exploring Asheville and surrounding mountains. No parties or loud music please! Pets are welcome and there is a fenced yard for their use and enjoyment, but they are not allowed to stay in the fenced yard alone without your presence in the cottage. You are required to cover all bedding/furniture your pet may lounge on (sheets are provided). And you are responsible for cleaning up after your pet. Pets must be up to date on all shots and on recent flea and tick preventative. Evidence of fleas or dog hair/muddy paws on furniture or bedding will incur additional cleaning fees.
The cottage is strictly non-smoking. Smoking is ok on the back patio but you must dispose of your cigarette butts in the garbage. Please do not leave littered in the backyard, front yard or anywhere else on the property!
The cottage should be left as you found it, dishes washed and put away, counters wiped down, coffee maker emptied of coffee grounds and pot cleaned and put away, excessive spatter in the microwave wiped out, any furniture that you moved back in it's place, used towels placed in laundry basket in the bathroom, futon in it's upright position, garbage placed in outdoor cans, dog excrement cleaned up from the yard and placed in outdoor garbage cans, and TV remote placed by the TV. The cleaning fee is based on a standard 2.5 hour cleaning time. Additional cleaning fees, at a rate of $25.00 per hour, will be charged for extra cleaning/organizing time required beyond standard cleaning after your departure.
I do not live on the property but am around many times during the week for yard maintenance and to check in with guests if you happen to be around not out exploring Asheville and the surrounding area. I am only a short distance away on the East side of Asheville, and available by phone/text should you have any questions.
I have made Asheville my home since 1995 and would never live anyplace else! I'm an avid outdoorsy type person enjoying hikes in the woods, kayaking, camping, wildflowers, sunsets. In 2003 I purchased this amazing property where I lived and worked for 12 years running a small doggie daycare business out of one of the buildings on the property. In 2014, I moved to the East side of Asheville with my fiance, now husband, and closed the dog business. I now short-term rent the two homes on the property; the 1 bedroom Wisteria Cottage and the 2 bedroom Hydrangea House. I have been renting the Cottage mostly as a vacation spot, occasionally as a long term rental, since it was purchased in 2003. It's very rewarding to provide such a unique and beautiful space for vacationers to the NC mountains.
I also love dogs! My other job is organizing and producing dog agility events in NC and TN.
