Staying in Monti, for me one of Rome’s most picturesque and charming neighborhoods,  is like staying in the picture postcard Rome of your imagination. With its narrow, cobblestone streets and ivy covered buildings, though centrally located yet detached from the rest of the historic center,  it doesn't  draw the same kind of tourist crowds.

It's a popular,  hip area,  with delightful boutiques and great food found in small artisanal and traditional restaurants.  It's very convenient - a short walk to the Colosseum, or to the central railway station, or into the historic center, and it's well connected by buses along via Nazionale and Via Cavour,  as well as the blue line subway at Cavour and Colosseum.

This “Tempio di Marte” pied a terre is in a unique archeological location,  just a step away from the heart of the Augustus Forum.  At the end of Via Baccina - as you can see from the pictures- there is the "Pantani’s Arch,” once the only entrance into the Forum, and the "Temple of Mars" (45 BC).

The apartment itself is super quiet, with a charming terrace overlooking the inner courtyard. Thanks to its thick walls dating to the year 1500,  it remains bright and airy even on the hottest summer days.

You enter the flat directly into a living room with a dining area up a split-level that leads to the fully-equipped kitchen that includes a big refrigerator,  dishwashing machine,  and a microwave.  The living room is quite unique with its three arches and its high original wood beam ceiling dating back to the 1500’s. There is also a comfortable double sofa bed,  a large TV set, a big comfy leather armchair and other amenities.  Up a few steps you'll find the bedroom,  the studio area and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower. Adjacent to the bedroom there is a cozy,  romantic terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast and your coffee, or your evening aperitivo…. and where you're allowed to smoke. I do love this place and it shows in every small detail.

Ideal for couples, for a family, for friends, for everyone who values history, beauty, tranquility, and peace!

We like this apartment very much. It is located walking steps to Foro Romano and Coloseo, in a little very quiet street with no tourism exploitation at all. And of course being neighbor to Foro Romano you feel the wings of history, and realizing that it must be hidden ancient roman ruins also beneath the building. The apartment is like an artist’s home with a lot of charm, with a large living room, a large bedroom with a nice veranda, a bathroom and a small kitchen. For us it felt so much cozier than living a hotel box-like room. Everything well renovated and clean. It was equipped with everything modernity you need including WiFi. The hot water supply for the bathroom broke down once, but it was fixed the same day by the land lord. The apartment is situated 3 floors stairs up in the building but that was just good climbing exercise. The landlord awaited us at arrival and had provided for us a bottle of wine and snacks, and we got a nice introduction to the apartment. And later we enjoyed an evening-out dinner with the land lord lady, a charming and very interesting Italian lady. We exchanged contact information and hope we can meet again, hopefully also in our home town Stockholm. To summarize, it surpassed our expectations and we can really recommend renting this apartment. We had a wonderful stay at the apartment! The place felt really magical, The layout of the flat is unusual with high ceilings, a seating platform, a courtyard balcony... We were very warmly welcomed by Carla, who had excellent communication with us throughout and was very helpful. We were close to the Colleaseum and really enjoyed the location.
