Ruby was responsive to our initial reservation for 3 nights but her responses were unclear. She seemed to be implying that the increased amount for the new reservation included taxi upon my request for meeting us at the airport. We still accepted the reservation despite a confusing response that the colonial house we tried to reserve wasn't available; we received a photo of a different house instead. We went ahead with the reservation. My 3 kids and I waited an hour. When she arrived, she said her car broke down, she didn't know we were coming, and that we would need to go choose a house! This took another hour and a half looking at 2 different places. We finally get settled in at midnight but only for a night, which was not ideal, especially for my youngest (age 7). Ruby offered to make breakfast for us but didn't show up until 10:30 the next day with no breakfast. Instead she asked me to pay the couple and that she would pay me back, which she did later that day, but it took several hours and we still hadn't had any food. She asked us to go look at a couple more places to stay the next 2 nights. We did that, which took another 1.5 hours and my kids were melting! The couple, Jose and Mirabel and abuelos were very nice. Ruby said that she would make us breakfast the next day, but I didn't want to risk a repeat of the day before accepted our casa's offer of breakfast instead. All in all, while Ruby appears to be a nice person, it was an exhausting experience. While Ruby has an apartment, she doesn't have room to rent. It appears that Ruby relies on reserving with other owners in the area. We appreciated the loveliness of those who said they could take us in - the places we stayed were nice. No complaints there. What was disheartening and tiring was how Ruby handled the whole process. We had no choice since we had already paid through airbnb to go and look at places, hear about how the prices of some rooms would cost her and maybe me more even though I had already paid, and staying in two different places in 3 days. I would give 2.5 stars. It just seemed to be a misleading post of a "colonial house" to rent to say the least!
