Quality, good-value accommodation in Kensal Green, zone 2, close to metro (7 min walk, 20 min to Oxford Circus) and bus (2 min) and Notting Hill. Quiet, charming residential family-friendly house of artists and designers who love antiques and travel
Since all the major sightseeing stations are all on our same underground line, sightseeing is super easy and convenient and all the major sights are covered:
10 minutes to Baker Street for Madame Tussauds and Sherlock Holmes
20 minutes to Piccadilly Circus for Buckingham Palace, Green Park and Mayfair
20 minutes to Oxford Circus for Oxford Street, Regent Street, Regent’s Park and Soho
20-25 minutes to Charing Cross for Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, Leicester Square and Covent Garden
25 minutes to Waterloo for Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and the South Bank
We are close to central London so it is also really easy to get to London Bridge in the east, and Harrods and Knightsbridge, the South Kensington museums (the Victoria and Albert museum, the Natural History museum and the Science museum) in the West as well as all the major parks including Hyde Park. We also have a direct train line to Euston, from where it is a short walk to Bloomsbury and the British Museum, or King’s Cross and Eurostar.
We are an artist and designer family and collect antiques and restore them. We love interior design and art and our house is full of quirky and interesting things to explore. Our recently-redecorated room is decorated with antique furniture and original prints. Our private room can host up to 2 people. It is perfect for single businessmen who want to feel at home during business trips or couples exploring the city at their leisure. It has one comfortable double bed. We frequently update our interiors as this is our great passion but the essence is the same - we love to collect and restore antiques and interesting objects so every stay is a unique one. We are inspired by the golden age of travel. We are happy to welcome couples, families with children, art and design lovers and individuals who love travel and want to explore London. We are happy to help!
London is very beautiful at Christmas and New Year, and we are close to Westfield (Europe's biggest shopping centre, if you want to catch up on last-minute Christmas shopping or alternatively the big New Year sales) and 20 mins by underground to Oxford Circus (the heart of London) - close to Regent Street and its magical Christmas lights, where the world-famous Hamley's toy shop is located. The festive atmosphere is really lovely with the lights and sparkles and provides a memorable Christmas shopping experience. The huge January sales are also worth a visit, as great bargains are to be had across the board, from the smaller shops right up to the big world-famous and legendary department stores Selfridges, Liberty, John Lewis, House of Fraser and Debenhams - all within walking distance of one another. Many brands' flagship and largest stores are located here so finding that special something is a doddle. There really is something for everyone in London!
Guests will have access to our kitchen and dining room, as well as our bathrooms and have free wifi access. All of these things are shared. We have a huge selection of art books and magazines which you are welcome to browse.

"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.'' Yes, Samuel Johnson was right! I am an artist and Londoner and regularly inspired by my life in London. I was born here and I am happy to help with ideas and suggestions for your trip to my favourite city in the world! My husband is a designer and together we are a creative family. As Londoners we regularly frequent exhibitions, museums and galleries or just wander the city itself for inspiration. Between us we have amassed a specialist knowledge of London art collections, galleries and museums which we are happy to share with guests. We have also seen most of the major sights of London ourselves and can give you advice on these; they are all within easy access of our home.
We are artists and designers and are happy to share our unique accommodation with guests from all around the world. Our home is decorated personally with many lovely antiques, objects and old prints all with their own stories, some of them directly related to our local London area and general London history. We also do interior design professionally and you will see our original artworks and prints on the walls as well as the odd sculpture or two. It can seem a rare privilege to gain a unique insight into the working home of an artist-designer couple yet we are happy to share the inspiration which surrounds us every day with our guests. You can experience day-to-day life in the late Victorian home that inspires our art and design and is infused with our ideas and inspiration. We also have a huge collection of art, design, fashion, photography, interiors and history books which you are welcome to browse. We enjoy reading, movies, the cinema, travelling and meeting new people.
Since we also live here, and our housekeeper is here through the day, we can answer any travel questions you may have, and we enjoy meeting new people from around the world and making them feel welcome in London. We have travelled lots and are always open to new cultures and can communicate in English, French, Czech and Slovak, understand Russian and some other Slavic languages and Persian and can say a few words in several other languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese and Georgian etc; we enjoy soaking up the flavours of all the languages we hear in London daily! We have welcomed guests from all around the world and consider it our privilege; we especially enjoy hosting tourists who want to get the most out of seeing the sights and wonders London has to offer! We would not want you to feel lost or alone in a huge city such as ours so you can rest assured that London is a very welcoming city and you will be welcomed, helped and looked after by both us and the city at large.
