This apartment was the perfect place for our family to stay. Because there were 8 of us and we were coming from the U.S., I wanted to find a place where people who couldn't sleep could sit and read or eat a snack. This place was ideal, since each of the 3 bedrooms and the living room/kitchen had doors. It was as clean and well furnished as the photos online indicated. One tip, though: the sun rises very, very early in Japan in the summer, and the curtains are sheer. Please bring or buy eye masks. By our third night there, 4 of us were wearing them to help us sleep later than 4 am.
A very nice surprise was the rooftop terrace on the second floor, where there was plenty of space for me to do my morning yoga and a big outdoor table and chairs for dinner. The washing machine was easy to understand and use and very much appreciated. We thought there would be a drier, as indicated online, but soon realized that meant the folding clothes drying rack that was on the smaller first floor terrace. When it looked like rain, we just moved it into the spacious bathroom. Ideal!
The kitchen had everything we needed and more---lots of dishes, cookware, toasting oven, microwave, spacious refrigerator, good stove, spacious counterspace. We used them all.
Some other guests have pointed out the steep steps. Yes, they were steep, but that gave more floor space to the apartment. You can't have it all into this space-limited country.
The apartment was at the end of a short alleyway/lane, which set it away from traffic noises. Very nice! And it was so easy to get to Family Mart, Lawsons and Life Supermarket, all downhill on the way to the trains. We also used the subway, just 5 minutes uphill. The location was ideal.
If/when we return to Kobe someday, we hope that this apartment will still be available. We will most definitely recommend it to other groups who travel there.
