Looking for the sweet, classic Joshua Tree experience? Our historic homestead cabin, newly renovated with all that one needs, sits on 5 secluded acres in the majical north side of Josh.. Clean, simple, with an Arabic flair..

Hil'weh house is a classic desert homestead cabin, gently updated with enough amenities to keep you comfortable.

—The Hil'weh house sits on 5 acres of pristine, undisturbed desert land. Please be aware that the desert flora is fragile, and takes a long time to renew, treat it with kindness. Fires are not allowed. No vehicles anywhere but driveway.—

The house's small kitchen includes a full fridge, sink, electric two burner stove-top, toaster oven, and electric kettle.

The very comfortable new queen bed converts to a couch. There is a bath-house attached to the east side of the cabin, with a private, hot, outdoor shower, and an indoor flush toilet.

We charge a $40 cleaning fee, this money goes directly to our cleaners. We are committed to providing a living wage for the sweet folks who clean our space. We want you to feel absolutely comfortable as soon as you arrive. And we hope to encourage longer stays in our beautiful desert. Covering our cleaning costs with this fee allows us to keep the nightly price down.

Your hosts are Jenny, Joshua Tree's community herbalist for the past 16 years, and Myshkin, a musician here for the past 3. The space comes stocked with organic coffee, teas, body care products and gourmet chocolate from Jenny's apothecary, Grateful Desert Herb Shoppe & EcoMarket. We always use all natural, essential-oil-based cleaning products and unscented detergents.

As there are some rough dirt roads in the neighborhood, please do follow our noted directions for the best route to the Hil'weh house. Look for them in the location description, available upon booking.

The Hil'weh House was a delight. My boyfriend and I stayed just for the weekend, spending Saturday in the Park, but it was so nice to have the house as our cozy home base. We packed some food and drinks, and I t truly had everything we needed inside. It's about 9 miles from downtown Joshua Tree, which some may consider an inconvenience if you're looking to be closer to the nearest food and shops in the area, but for us, it was perfect. Being farther away meant even less light pollution, incredible stars, privacy, and that sweet desert silence. There's no better place to sit back and listen to the birds. Natural products provided in the home and shower were an extra bonus! Showering outside in the warm sun with aromatic natural products was paradise. We had an amazing first trip to Joshua Tree and hope to return again! P.S. Protip: try your best not to leave the front door open, because the desert's ginormous moths love to gather around the light above the bed. You can't blame them for their nature, but if you don't want to see and hear them buzzing about without turning off the light, try to keep the cabin as secure as you can.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at Jenny and Myshkin's homestead. We really appreciated the route they sent us ahead of time to take the best dirt road to get there. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Loved the quiet and remote location. We came here for our anniversary and it was amazing. Watching the stars from the outdoor shower were unreal... and so were the chocolates and homemade aroma therapy products. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay. So quiet and peaceful. Everything there made it so pleasant. We would highly recommend your place to get away for those who need seclusion and yet it was conveniently close enough to town. It was hard to leave.

This was as magical as we thought it would be! My partner and I had already been hosted by Jenny and Myshkin and knew their cabin would be cozy, comfortable and most importantly smelling great!! The place was extremely clean, cute and had everything we needed in addition to lots of simple details that made every minute of stay enjoyable! I will definitely go back and recommend it to friends!

Simply wonderful. A hidden treasure surrounded in stars and peacefulness. Proof less can often be more. It had everything we needed to cook dinner, get good night of sleep (loved the comfy bed and covers) and hiking in Joshua Tree. Check in was easy and directions provided were clear and easy for us to follow.

We really enjoyed our stay! Quiet and peaceful. It was a treat to return after a day hiking in the national park and exploring the surrounding towns.
